do we need a shill lesson in this worthless thread?
due to the price difference between ultegra di2 and DA di2, this part of his comments only makes people who bought (or are set on) DA di2 feel better.
saying this:
about ultegra di2 doesnt do shimano any good what so ever. instead it will make people think this:
it would be like bmw trying to spur 7 series sales by calling the 3 series crap. all they will accomplish is an increase in audi a4 sales.

the thread is worthless so i felt my comments would not subtract from its value. just because conversation is worthless doesnt mean i cant partake, i just dont expect much from it in return. that is where the "no worth" comes from. if it were a constructive conversation it would have been worth more valuable input on the actual topic. see the difference?

Not at all. I am saying negative press for ultegra di2 is more likely to cause people to consider a mechanical group than DA di2. If campy had an eps group in the ultegra di2 price range then it would be worth a look but at this time it (athena eps) is only in sales books .today, sram would be the most likely party to gain from negative ultegra di2 press (if I were true)

Dura Ace Di2 is considerably more elegant than the 7900 mechanical version. With Ultegra the 6700 mechanical group is sleeker, better designed than the electronic components.
Hey, I like Di2 and all, but a good mechanical group like Ultegra is great too. Looking forward to riding the 2012 version of Sram Red. The one place where Di2 has an unbeatable advantage is on a TT bike. Game changer on a TT bike.
Most of the idiots here have no clue or hands on experience, and RW is the biggest, most pompous, egotistical idiot on all of BF*, and that's saying something right there.
*botto included
God help me bike weenies are imbeciles. And you wonder why I'm not here so much lately.

I got to try Ultegra on a trainer at a recent show. Sure, it's a short test and not on the road. But the shifting was AMAZING. The fact that I can add buttons elsewhere on teh bars is a personal plus for me, but mostly I was impressed by how smoothly and effortlessly it shifted. It may have less bling, it may be more clunky (I'm not sure) but I still want it.

When considering an electric groupset, most of us won't spend a lot of time focusing on the aesthetics of derailleurs or wiring.
Anybody have a close up picture comparison of Di2 and Ui2 shifters?

Just like all systems, the one below the best is not as nice. I rode the Ultegra system and there's nothing wrong with it if that's what you want. It is not cheesy any more than mechanical Ultegra is cheesy in comparison to the Dura Ace system.
I put up the pictures, but don't have them on this computer.
If anyone is considering going with Ultegra electronic, it's perfectly fine. It's not a snazzy as Dura Ace, but unless you have the extra disposable income and need ultra high performance (not just cool stuff to show up at a group ride and be the center of attention), Ultegra is just fine.
I really struggle with people coming on line talking about a company's product, making disparaging remarks when they really have no clue what they are talking about.

It's a long story, but I actually have DA Di2 on one bike and Ultegra Di2 on the other. Functionally they're identical except the Ultegra Di2 front derailleur makes a louder noise from the motor when it shifts. I don't spend much time looking at the actual parts other than the shift levers when I ride, so i can't speak to cheesy. I'd take half off the price for a little cheese.
Either way it must be a slow day in the news flash world I guess

Take a few months off and it is like not even a day passed in here. Let the big vein in your collective forehead relax a little and try to understand that any comment directed at Pcad is done so with tongue in cheek 99.9% of the time. He is the resident Di2 shill, Master of Mt. Doom, and for the most part, the most entertaining poster in virtually any thread.

If we had 50 users of Di2 Ultegra say how gread something about it was somebody would say they are all wrong. Maybe those would be the ones that still are big and have downtube shifters. LMAO!!
