Specialized p.2 cr-mo build

Hello you all,

I have an old Specialized p.2 cr-mo frame that I used to ride in my youth. I now have two daughters and one of them would really like to ride the skatepark on sunday mornings with me. So I got this idea of building that frame for a street riding orientation.

The thing is that I don't have any knowledge of bike building and standards, so I got no idea of what parts to buy that can fit my frame. I got plenty of tools so I'm probably good on that side, maybe some specialised tools but thats all.

So if any of you have some knowledge that want to share with a noob I would be really grateful.

Ride safe !

Welcome!

People here will definitely help you. I have a Specialized P2 myself, but may or may not be the same standards.
Do you have calipers to measure things? It'll make things much easier if you can post pictures with measurements, or even just the measurements until you get enough posts to add pictures.

So take a picture and inside diameter measurements, in mm, of:
  1. the bottom bracket shell (if there's a bottom bracket still installed, just a picture will do) - and whether it's threaded or not. Actually, if it is threaded, that's all the information necessary, I don't think Specialized ever used a threaded bottom bracket other than BSA on a P2
  2. Heat tube (if there is a headset (bearings) still installed, inside of the bearings is fine - if there's a fork installed, just a picture) - probably 44mm if the cups aren't installed.
Measure the distance between the rear dropouts (where the rear wheel would go) - likely 135mm
