Track trainer review
I tried multiple trainers for my track bike.
such as....
-Kinetic road machine
pro - resistance feels natural compare to Minoura FG540
- high resistance
- easy to purchase used
con - tire dusts are everywhere(red trainer tire)
- damages your bolt
- heavy
-Lemond Revolution
pro - it feels like you are on the road
- perfect for standing start(Shane is using this trainer now)
con - LOUD crazy loud
- heavy
- expensive and hard to find one
-Minoura FG540(picture provided)
pro- light and portable
- if you use Ratchet strap, you won’t have any problems with standing start
- quiet compare to other trainers
- easy to adjust resistance(number of resistance = 7)
con - doesn’t feel natural
-Hand made roller that Korean Keirin Racer use
pro - huge drums
con - hard to get
In my personal opinion, all of them are perfect for sprinters.

In my opinion, it’s the best track frame under 2k.
I never tried Look or BT, but BTB is easy to control.
Also, it’s one of the lightest track frame on the market.
My friend used Campagnolo carbon rear disc wheel with io and he barely passed uci weight limit.

If my newish DF4 had not been a mega, mega bro deal, I'd certainly be on a Dixie Flyer myself.

BTB was cheaper than DF4, but I don’t regret that decision. i just hope they have longer dropout.
Also in my memory, you live in Japan.
if you do, try using transparent Soyo track grip.
According to my friend, it lasts longer with same grip.
It doesn’t crack or tear off easily like other color.

I used the track adapter, but the bike still moves a lot so it damaged my track nuts.
Also, I don’t think it’s good for the axel too.
To make the bike stable, you have to compress a lot which causes the axel to bend a little(this is my personal opinion, so it might be wrong)

I ran my KKRM for years with zero issues. I used grip tape to take out the slip and just put up with the rubbery mess for the zero slip. Later, I removed the roller and had it knurled. Zero slip still, and about 5% of the rubber mess from running the grip tape. Still a little bit of rubber, but very very little compared to with the grip tape
