New Clyde clomps onto the board
New member here, a clyde (255 LBS).
In high school and college raced JR and cat 3 (much slimmer though), swam and played water polo.
Now married with job etc.
Getting back into cycling to lose a bunch of weight, glad to see the community here.
Current ride is a 2001 Trek 5200 that I got when a company that I worked for sponsered USPS Team and got a bunch of bikes to offer to employees. Worried a bit about the rolf wheels folding under my girth but so far so good.
Live in the San Francisco bay area so plenty of places to ride (although I live in the hills so every ride has climbing).
Other interests include food and wine (although both are currently restricted by dieting), photography and I have 2 whippet puppies that my wife and I are training.
See you all in the forums.
regards
Brentley

Welcome to BF from a fellow Clyde. The C/A forum has some great threads on wheel construction. Check it out.

Hi Brentley, Bill's already directed you to C/A (a great place!), so I'm going to mention checking out the Northern California regional forum.
What part of the Bay Area?
Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Wow
That was really fast, faster than I expected.
I have gone through all of the wheel threads and have a good idea about what my next wheelset will be (I can always let me wife ride the rolfs).
Have a good recommendation for a LBS from one of my neighbors so I am going to go over that way today.
I live in the Oakland hills, (in a fire rebuild, for those who know what that means) and I grew up in the east bay riding up Mt Diablo.
Checked out the Norcal sub board as well, nice bunch.

I am the Official Greeter--I don't like to have the grass grow under my feet, and more to the point, I saying hello to new people!
There are a lot of people in NorCal who would be happy to take you back to your roots and ride up Mt. Diablo with you.
