Campagnolo Shamal
Hey there,
I'm needing to replace my rear wheel. I have a campy drive train and I found someone selling a Shamal wheel with a campagnolo hub for a decent price. This is one of those silver ones from the 90's. The guy selling has always had a 9sp cassette on it. Does anyone know if these are compatible with a 10sp campagnolo cassette.
Thanks,
augie

9/10/11 cassettes all use the same spline, so it should work, but I'd question the value of any wheel that old. The hub is probably the old design with the 10mm steel axle and smaller diameter lockring threads (26mm). Spare spokes might be tough to find. Newer wheels have the oversized aluminum axle and larger (27mm) lockring threads. New cassettes now come with a 27mm threaded lockring.

DaveSSS is right that 9s, 10s and 11s all use the same freehub body. But make sure that your wheel doesn't date too far back. When Campy first introduced 9s, they used the old spline pattern. That didn't last a year before they introduced the current spline pattern, so it's rare, but you don't want it.
