Nothing is ever simple.. Brake Edition!
Went to install a brake (Shimano 105) on my new carbon fork, only to find that the face of the fork is not square to the mounting hole.
1. Am I being retentive?
2. Do tapered washers exist? I need a 6mm ID washer with a 2mm taper and ~14mm OD
3. I'd mill my own, if I could only think of a way to hold it still in my desktop mill ?
Before you ask... yes I did cheap out on the fork, and got my just deserves.

A washer from an old set of nutted brakes or similar and a little work with a file or Dremel tool should yield a wedge-shaped washer. Bonus style points for making it curved to fit the fork's contour.

Case Closed
Used a lifeline and phoned a friend.
He has a keen sense of the obvious.
I milled a square washer from flat bar aluminum.
No reason it needed to be round.
I was hung up on trying to cut a wedge into an existing round washer.
Thanks all

Retentive, iff the pads line up and braking performance was not compromised. But it sounds like you've settled it, so, cheers.

a V brake pad pair of cupped and domed washers should do the trick ... Your bike shop will have them for free..
(New pads always come with more)

What level of cheapness are we talking? Aliexpress level of cheap maybe? I'm not sure I'd ride it if that's the case.
I like having my teeth where they belong and I don't want to even think what could happen if a fork breaks at speed.

Sorry, I intended this thread to tackle technical issues utilizing the fork I have, and not my choice of fork.
I do take your warnings to heart. I thank you for your concern.
As to the issue with the 8degree angle & brake pads hitting the fork blades, I'm contacting the vendor to find out my options.
I don't see a safe way to correct such a fundamental flaw.
Sincerely
Barry
