So my friend whose crank arm fell off is being recommended to replace everything. Spindle is ruined bolt is ruined. Chain is old, cassette and chain rings too. I recommended merlin and just do a whole 105 group set. He liked that idea, but he is interested in a power meter. Any recommendations on where to look for a used power meter crank set?
He doesn’t care if it’s dual or one sided.

I had a pair of jogger skates. The shoe parts looked like running shoes. In high school there was sometimes a weekend bus to a local mall that had a roller rink. When home from school I used to skate for transportation. Good times.

I may have mentioned this but there is a 4000 foot high hill right behind the house here and hang gliders launch from there and they have a little airport for them to land down low. It has wind socks, a big grassy area, and a graded flat area in case the grass isn't big enough. It also has rest rooms and parking but I don't know who pays for it.
Hang gliding is one of those things that looks really freaking cool but I think I would be way too chicken to try.
At least you wear a parachute.

I don't have many memories of living in New Mexico but one of them is seeing hang gliders floating around after launching off the nearby ridge.

Well the plan was to try and sneak in 200 in 4 days before leaving for work. Woke up this morning and checked the wx. Suppose to be bad this afternoon, which will lead me to me working really late. Decided to sleep an extra hour, and start riding later. It really didn’t matter, my legs were done, even if I had had the time, I wouldn’t have been able to get the 60 for 200.
Until next week.
I wonder which one you delinquents will knock me off.

Doesn’t take long to turn green once you leave the arid areas.

There is quite a lot being written these days on that very subject, hot spells being hotter and lasting longer, stormy seasons being stormier and so on and so forth for all the possible calamities. A good read about this a a book by Richard Leakey, an anthropologist just like his Mom and Dad. The book is entitled "The Sixth Extinction". The more immediate consequences are flooding, desertification and such. The longer term consequences are more conflicts and vast migrations which we already see in the numbers of Africans heading to EU countries and other similar migrations in other areas.

It's a new day so, with a fresh load of gumption, I decided to do it right and drain the wheels... again. I was able to salvage the sealant this time by suctioning it out before unscrewing the valve stem, which releases the inner chamber water in to the tire cavity. Front wheel was pretty minor, maybe an ounce at most. Rear wheel was probably closer to 5-6oz.
The idea of foul weather wheels is starting to sound more appealing, but really, who sets out thinking that they may get stuck in a torrential downpour? Not I.

I hear ya, but even when I'm flogging myself (reported!), I still want to have a little bit of joy.
