Mounting a light on a carbon seatstay?
Any 'bright ideas' for mounting a light on a carbon seatstay?

How heavy a light are you mounting? My lights are held on by a wide rubbery band that hooks in two places. Most of the small bright lights similar to Bontrager Flare come with that type mount. Lights that are a little heavier use a mount similar to some of the out front mounts for your GPS. All I've seen come new with the adapters to make the mount the right size for the seatpost or size seatstay, or tube you want to mount them on. Regardless of whether carbon fiber or not.
As long as the mount puts fairly equal pressure on every side of the tube, it's not going to crush it.

Mostly folks attach it to seatstay so that drivers can't see it much, but passing birds can.
More of a dull idea, IMO.

What light are you mounting and photos of the frame would help. Should not be too difficult to find a solution. Some mfrs. even offer separate mounts for this or Ebay may have something if not wanting to fabricate your own.

If one is short, there isn’t room for a tool roll or seatbag to be mounted on the seatpost at the same time, so one has to find another place to keep a light (or tools). I mount on the left side seat stay for exactly this reason, but you have to have a light with an adjustable angle mount. Planet bike lights even come with a separate clamp to mount on the seat stays.

most lights with bungy like attachments will have no problems on a seat stay just be careful you dont sneeze when around carbon frames as they are so fragile they might explode into pieces

Sqirtdad's link has an adjustable mount, 'tho those are excessively bright IMO.
I'd also be concerned about the light possibly rotating into the spokes, & a bit of aero penalty.
