Ross Chrome MTB for $3.

Got this one for $3 talked down from $5. Ross MT. something chrome MTB this will be a parts bike since the frame has damage wondering what parts are worth cleaning up and selling. I know the crank set is worth my time and the wheels will work as spares for other bikes or possibly other builds most of the other stuff is just meh not sure if it's worth my time.

40% discount... you drive a hard bargain

I personally wouldn’t spend much on restoring as a mountain bike. Probably would look great as a full-fendered, upright geezer pleaser though.

Where's the frame damage? Looks like maybe drive side rear dropout?

Strange that they evidently were running a claw mount RD on a bike with a hanger on the dropout.

Wow, textbook definition of "rode hard and put away wet". Possibly literally.

Thumb shifters are worth keeping, once cleaned up. At least save the fork and headset. I bought one of these last year, only to discover an ever-so-slightly bent fork. Same size as yours, I'd buy your fork in a heartbeat, but I already replaced it. Actually, come to think of it, what does the sticker on the fork say?

Oh, now I see that massive rust where the DS chainstay meets the dropout. Has that joint failed? Shame.

The right rear chainstay has been broke and poorly welded and the rear dropout is bent also way out of alignment in the rear so a no go for rebuilding. Did get it mostly taken apart turns almost nothing is good crankset is mismatched one CR 175 right arm and 170 custum left arm. About the only good part is the nice Sakae MTS stem. The thumbies are just OK and the brakes are fine but need pads and cables. I will probably end up selling those and the stem here on the BF. Well at least I did get a couple nice bottle cages and the wheels which should rebuild fine.
