Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Florida, on the river. This was from my lunch ride today. What I like about this route is that I get to see how far I've gone.
My office building is on the left bank of that gray bridge to the right of the photo, in front of that clump of tall buildings.

It's the only one I've taken of it since I got it last week. But, to be compliant with the post, there is water in the bottle!

Technically.. yes.

Next time turn the bike the other way so you can see the drivetrain.

Also the chain might be a bit short, even assuming large chainring and cog.

Not sure about the chain length. I haven't really looked at it that close. It's a week old, and came from the LBS that way. I'll have to check that. I believe the chain should be on the smallest in the front and the largest in the rear, then the derailleur should be straight down???? Thanks for pointing that out.

That counted too. Your pool probably would have looked better though. (There's still time...)

Me riding my old Ricardo. No complaints I don't do selfies though I'd look better with a Delta 7.

Ok, I'll try again to see if I meet the criteria.

The bike is turned to the correct side, and there's water in the background.

Better but.... you violated rule #54

Velominati ? The Rules
  • Rule #54 // No aerobars on road bikes.

Aerobars or other clip-on attachments are under no circumstances to be employed on your road bike. The only exception to this is if you are competing in a mountain timetrial.

I know this isn't the C&V forum, but the subject was about "posting a photo of your bike near water..." I also made sure I turned my old Fuji around to show the drive side in each photo.

A view of Tuckahoe Creek (i.e. swamp) along River Road at Henrico & Goochland county line in Virginia.

A view of the James River from the Huguenot Bridge (looking up river).

And lastly, a view of the "Z Dam" on the James River, along Riverside Drive.

Thanks... It's an oldie but a goodie. I snatched it off Craigslist back in June for a steal. For a 30 yr old bike, it is still in almost MINT condition!
