That is a very very sensible kilo, and I hope that's what mine would look like (if I had one).

Are my eyes playing tricks on me with the Kilo TT? If you remove the seatpost, you could steal that bike right? It is just wrapped around the post, and not through the frame. Am I losing my mind?

@oeuf, good sightings. I've never seen a Dosnoventa while out and about before!

I have looked several times, I do not see where it goes under the top tube. That lock is just around the seatpost. It is a visual attempt, not an actual attempt to lock it. That or the owner just didn't pay attention.

Look again. It plays tricks on the eyes, for sure, but look some more. It is "only wrapped around the post" after it comes through the frame below the top tube. Visualize it without the seat post.

Have people in Manhattan forgotten how to lock up their bikes? I had to tell a guy the other day that his quick release front wheel will get stolen if he continues to neglect locking it up.

in this hypothetical I am for some reason stuck with a kilo and that is what I'd do with it. I wouldn't ever choose a kilo for a townie if I was shopping around, unless it was used and super cheap!

I have decided a long time ago to reserve judgment, as I really don't know the circumstances. For all I know, it could be someone who ran inside for five minutes, or someone keeping a watchful eye from nearby. If this is long-term (or even medium-term) parking, then sure, it looks bad. But that isn't always the case.
