Recommend 700c tubeless compatible rims
Hello,
I am looking for recommendations for alloy 700c disc tubeless compatible rims. Approximately 230lbs rider and gear. 42 max tire width. Thanks in advance.

Velocity Cliffhangers are super beefy rim. I use them for rim brake tube type tires, but they are tubeless compatible. Very strong and they build up nicely. Well made and engineered rim.

Velocity has a good chart of all their rims, it lists recommended tire widths, which ones are tubeless, etc.

Other manufacturers make selection more difficult, and some of them appear to have specifications written by the marketing department.
There is nothing wrong with using a rim brake rim for a disc wheel. When I built up my light touring bike, front wheel is rim brake and rear wheel is disc brake. I bought rim brake rims for front and rear for aesthetics so that they match.

Boyd has aluminum disc rims that are made in the US now. The brand has an excellent reputation.
HplusSon Hydra comes in a bunch of drilling and is a longstanding well regarded rim that will easily build into a sturdy wheel for loaded touring.
