Raced a very wet TT in Garden Prairie, IL today.

Tomorrow the plan is to go out to Westlake VIllage and check out the Fall Fling Road Race course. Should be interesting because the rain will still be coming down.

I was in the Bike Shop in St Charles today and just watching the river skim the bottom of the bridge there it was so high. The current was impressive as well. Looked like some rapids you'd see some big white water boats on...

I went out for 17 miles in the rain. Nice, for a while, then the raindrops got big and very cold. At least 20 mph winds, always the wrong way of course. Very nice ride.

Did 20 in the rain. I added aero bars to my bike and need riding time with them. First time with aero bars. Pace was slower but the focus was the time in the aero position. I have my first TT in 3 weeks.

Anyone want to play in sustained 31-39mph with 46-57mph gusts wind today?? Deciding whether it will be fun, or hell.

The Bear - a CIBA ride in Indiana. I rode the 41 mile loop that goes over some of the old hilly hundred course. It was great. Most of the rain from Ike's reminence held off (we did get a short crazy rain shower). The wind was crazy and the 2 steep steep hills were even scarier, but made it through in around 18mph.

JUST got back in from my 41 mile loop. East out to Metro parks up to Lorain Rd and past the golf course. Back west to Lake Rd up to Sheffield then south back to Avon. All was good till the southern part. Holy cow was that wind brutal. I was working to see 15 MPH.......Still a nice morning for a ride though

I UHTFU'd.

Took a ride around the block to see if it might be enjoyable, and decided that it wouldn't be. Especially with branches crashing down in front of me. I'm all talk and no ride i guess...

Cereal City Century in Battle Creek. 101.80 miles, 6:40 on the pedals, eight and a half hours all told. Soaking wet from start to finish but the people who organized it were so nice and the carb-loading dinner Saturday night was great. My wife stopped at 46 miles because of her knee and the couple we were riding with told me to go on ahead if I wanted. I just got tired of being wet so I did. As a matter of fact, my Garmin's altimiter also got tired of being wet so it stopped working. Those were some of the best hills, too!

The final leg was mostly a northbound loop into the wind. When I finally turned west, I almost cried a little. The final ten southbound miles were great...but still wet.

Managed to get in 7 miles this evening before darkness falls. Mainly went out to check out the floodwaters nearby. DuPage River was over parts of the West Frontage Rd. north of Black Rd. Interstate 55 was dry. Couple more feet of rising water and we be in a little trouble. Was some flooding on the outside lanes on Black Rd. at the Rock Run Preserve entrance. Other than that, Black Rd. was fine. Can't say the same for Caton Farm by the river though as it was reported flooded by the paper online. Thank god this awful weekend is behind us. Hopefully psimet will be able to commute by bike sometime this week.

Yeeehaw... 2nd time in a month I got water in the basement again. The levee broke about 1 mile down the street and now the water is slowly coming into my neighborhood. Currently about 150 feet away from my house. Cars are ready for evacuation. But I'm going to stay inside the house and shoot the looters.

Man Scummer, you've must of had a very rough summer/early fall. Tornado ripping down your street, basement flooding, the 9/11 curse (maybe i shouldn't mentioned that) and now the levee. You must of got more rain than i did. We got i say about 4.5 - 5 inches the past couple days here. Good luck cleaning up.

Yeah.. I don't know how much rain we got, but it was alot. The river's highest flood stage was 17 feet in the past. Today it's over 17.5 feet and rising.
