2008 Psimet Invitational Poll...uh-oh...
OK...I have the Psimet invitational listed as being on the 27th of September, but none of us have really been talking about it. I have kind of been getting a feeling that not too many people are interested in doing it.
To top it off there is a race series "Fall Fling" put on both days that weekend and the following weekend for the series. I really want to do the series because it is the last bit of "real" racing left on the calendar that I can see.
So....where does that leave the Psimet invitational? I'd be willing to either move it up a weekend, back 2 weekends, put it at another date, or call it off for this year if there is lack of interest.
I will leave this out here for a little while. Not meant as an open discussion for changing the ride, etc....just the timing.
EDIT: The poll is public and you can pick more than one option depending on what works for you. Sorry for the hassle and thanks again for chiming in.

I'll be running the Chicago Marathon on the 12th so the 11th and 12th are no good for me.

Nobody is talking about it because nobody is posting about it.
I'm in anytime other than the 27th or 28th, just tell me when.

Don't know if you remember the setup, but there are progressive routes allowing you to join in later in the day for shorter routes (when everyone else has some mileage in their legs). Also I plan on trying to have at least 2 speed groups with designated leader/sweepers.

I will see what the vote comes to. I don't have many plans after Labor Day... except to start my winter quilting... you know I do have a soft side If the day fits, I can drive up. If the worst happens, I'll have my 6 pack of BudLight and hang with your wife... we girls always have things to talk about

Sept. 21st is also Blood Sweat and Tears ride in Barrington, which I know little about (25/45/62 $35)
Sept. 27-Ride Like an Egyptian in Dekalb
Oct. 11-Leaf Peepers Tour in Elizabeth ($20)
OCt. 12-Richmond Associated Firefighters Fall Fifty ($20?)
I'm sure I'm not doing all of them...but I can wish.
I officially voted for Oct. 11th. After I did that I realized I could/would do Sept.21. (Sat. the 20th is spousal B-day celebration in all likelihood)

Last year's thread should explain a lot of that. I have no official thread for this year yet.

I voted 10/12 because I'm heartless and just don't care about your flight! Sleep through it!
Sundays always work better for me though really. Though whatever you pick I will try to make.
Except I plan on doing the North Shore, likely plenty of others will too.

ahem, i would go BUT i am new to cycling and not sure i can keep up with you guys, my best and not so well kept beyond a few minutes pedaling is 23 mph and i either get tired of think i am too weak after a few minutes or so, so bad for me, perhaps a bit of peer pressure or something could make me think better of it.
I have seen your mph and others high average and i am like crazy impressed.
Oh well.

a fast BFNIC century this year would likely end with a 20 mph average. some slower, some faster. most of us have not ridden too many centuries this year, but we managed 20 mph at the Udder back June. if you can handle 16 to 18 solo you can hang with us. plus, Psi is doing some facny no drop multiple group thing this year. later.

I am going to see what i can do as far as this ride event. My speed is above 18mph every time and sometimes faster but it doesn't go down below 17 or high 16 unless the cateye compu is kidding, hehe.
Will update you all folks on my plans regarding this. So far it is for the 20/21 as i fly to Miami, for work, on the 22nd.
UPDATE: I chose the 20th!
Thanks all!

I will spell out details regarding the format later. If you're even remotely interested then select a date. If you feel it's too much late then you can always back out. The rollcall above is not for committments but rather preferences.
Then again if everyone chooses 1 day and we make it that day and no one shows....I'll be

Same place as last year? I might make this my first BFNIC ride of the year. Will we be having Cheese Wiz again in between legs? The homemade cookies were pretty good as well.

I don't know how I feel about eating cheese wiz from between ANYONE's legs.
So far it will be in the same location with the same route. Don't know if I have enough time to validate a new route.
