Colnago Super(?) 80’s frame

Hi everyone

I was wondering if you could help me to confirm if this Colnago frame is the Super model and how much is worth?

Current price is £270 and includes headset. It has a few marks and a top tube superficial rust on what it seems.

Thank you!

Yes, looks to be a Super. Value? The forks alone, if you were to try to buy them on eBay in good condition, would be 150 US dollars or more. This seems a good price if it is right fit for you

I was just about to post the exact same thing. Great deal. Prolly so cheap because of the color. *

*I kid. I am not a fan of blue.

Needs a repaint. Saronni Red would be my choice.

The price seems OK if you don't have to pay for shipping and fees. I would be bit lower at $200 or so . Nice that they gave some good pics showing the few minor flaws on the frame this is plus in my book.

Thanks everyone for the replies! I ended up getting it. I think it will make a good project.

Now I’m thinking of a repaint , does anyone have the codes or references for either Blue or Red Saronni?

Saronni red has changed slightly over the years but generally it’s a deep bright red candy sprayed over a silver base. I just had my Picchio repainted and it’s very close to this, maybe a little deeper red in the candy and it’d be considered a Saronni red. It’s hard to tell because i was not able to see it in bright sunlight before I had to leave. I was going for a match of a three part Mazda candy red with a pearl in the final clear coat, which the Colnago Saronni red doesn’t have and which tends lighten the red some.

You might first try some light touch-up from the department store nail polish aisle before going all in.

I don't think this bike needs a repaint. 270 pounds sterling is $340 US. I reckon bike prices tend to run higher in the UK than in the US. I don't think $300 or thereabouts is a bad price for this bike but it really should have a headset at that price so I'd value it closer to $250. That's not a deal price but this is a solid frame.

Edit: The OP says the bike includes a headset but that doesn't look complete to me in the picture and I have no idea why the seller can't be bothered to properly install a headset. I hate it when sellers remove the headset from a bike.

+1 on trying the nail polish touch up. I'd only cost you maybe $10 and a little time to give it a try.
