Good luck, Tim. I see yours has a long cage RD. Mine are generally set up as 9 or 10 speed. And they are FAST.
I’ve had maybe a dozen 87 Tempos pass thru my hands in the past decade. Even the really nice ones looked pretty tatty after a year or so of regular, careful use. The paint’s just too thin and the edges on the lugs too sharp for rust resistance.
The last one I got from a midwest Co-op. Rides as well as any of the others but has some touchup.
They are GREAT bikes!

I have such a beautiful 24 or 25 inch white Peloton with a tan Brooks B 17, matching Brooks bar tape and bag, new Open Pro wheels, Suntour Supurbe....

I do need to sell bikes. At least 15 too many.
The Peloton is a beautiful bike. It's a scosche too large for me.

I only rode it on Sunny days. It's like a classic Cadillac.

I'll have to see if I have a picture.

...sorry, I was just commenting on the size. Not sure I'm selling, and I'm not sure I want to pay for a seller's account here to do so. The whole boxing and shipping thing is now much more problematic for me with the pandemic thing going on. If you can make that 25" frame work for you, you should grab it. They are sweet bikes, although even the Super Sport made in Japan models from that same era are also nice. Ironically, I really have decided I probably need to downsize, I'll just end up doing it locally to avoid all the trips involved in boxing and shipping.

I'm well into what everyone is telling me is a higher risk group, but I don't feel any more like James Bond, so they might be wrong.

It might be time for you to take the plunge and embark on the great "learning to artfully touch up bicycle paint" adventure. That will keep you busy for hours if you have to stay at home.

I'm hoping I get to the Peloton box before my wife sees it... I mean, I've gotten rid of FOUR bikes in the last year, including two last month, but that's probably ancient history to her. She does't see those empty, forlorn hooks on my bike shop ceiling.

When I was looking through the shed for a box (and found the Ironman) I found another 25 inch blue and white Tempo frame and what I hope is a 24 inch (but memory tells me it's a 25 inch) NOS, never built Schwinn Voyageur frame.

We can fill a couple more hooks.

I missed this a few weeks ago. ff anyone else is still in the market, my 25" Peloton is available. It's neo-Retroed and ready to go. Seat tube is a scosche too tall for me. Or I'd swap framesets for a 24" frame in good knick.

Here's my 1986 modernized Peloton:
-Shimano RS20 Wheelset with 10 speed cassette and Schwalbe Lugano 23c tires.
-Tektro interchangeable model dual pivots fitted with Koolstop pads
-Origin 8 quill adapter, Titec Hellbent Stem (120, 0 degree), and the wonderful but now discontinued IRD Blackbird Comp handlebars. Origin8 twintape, 105 5700 series STI shifters
-Cinelli Vai seatpost holding up a Kore Retrobu (Turbo clone) saddle
-FSA Gossamer 50/34 crankset
-Microshift "White" derailleur set. 100 percent Shimano compatible.
It weighed 22.5 lbs built.
