Had anyone ever heard of an Asuise Apache?
I am fixing up my Dad's 1963-64 road bike and it has no decals on it whatsoever. I'm trying to get more info on the manufacturer. As he recalls, he bought it new for $300.00 which was alot at that time. He swears up and down that it's an Asuise (sp?) Apache and a French bike. Maybe a custom builder? It has a RGF bottom bracket but that was pretty common at that time. Has anyone heard of this brand? The original wheels and shift components are long gone but it is a classic style steel lugged ten speed frame with drop bars. I would post photos but I guess I need to post 10 times to gain the right. Thanks in advance!

Try posting the pictures to your Gallery. Someone here may be able to move them. Pictures help a lot in trying to id a bike.

Turns out that they are posted in my gallery already. I suppose that is from when I first tried to upload? Is there a way to easily point people here in that direction?
Also I posted a link to imgur in my account message. Maybe that will work?

Have seen a cycle called the Azusa Apache.
There are extinct marques called Azusa and Apache.
Checked at three francophone fora ans the Asuise name has never come up.

While prepping the bike for new paint I have found the following markings in the listed locations:
I wish I could show photos but am still 6 posts away now.
- 89809 on the left drop out bracket
- RGF on left top of bottom bracket ( lug maker)
- "75" on seat lug
- CM on front of the bottom lug of the headstock
I wish I could show photos but am still 6 posts away now.

RGF stands for Roulements Garanti Francaises
CM is a partial (poorly showing) marking the complete of which is BCM standing for lug manufacturer BOCAMA
the "75" marking on the frame's seat lug may refer to the angle in degrees between the lug's socket for the seat tube and the one for the top tube
have you discovered any marking on steerer, such as NERVOR or DURIFORT?
