Modolo replacement hoods advice

I have spent 45 minutes now doing a web search and reading old forum posts and am not yet certain what I should be looking for. So your help please.

I have two bikes which need replacement hoods for Modolo brake levers.

Bike 1 has Modolo Speedy brake levers.

Bike 2 is a Bianchi Quattro which has the Modolo levers that were stock on the bike.

Both hoods look the same to me; anatomical (maybe 919 hoods) but I want to be sure before I spend the dollars.

Please let me know of anything out there that is reasonably priced and will fit well. I am not interested in the brown plastic Cane Creeks. - Thanks, Dan

Sorry no links but I'm pretty sure I've seen some Modolo anatomic hood knock offs for sale recently.

FYI Modolo hoods fit the formerly standard Campagnolo lever shape, and are interchangeable with campy.

you can find the Modolo 919 hoods on eboy. they can be had pretty cheep if you are not picky about color. the white or yellow (seem to) be more durable than the gum, and cheaper

when installing, use a little soapy water to get 'em to slide into place - alberto VO5 hairspray is what the pros used BITD

The Rustines are the way to go if you are ok with traditional non-anatomic hoods. They are traditional real gum rubber, unlike modern hoods.

Already pointed out, but it's Dia Compe that still makes a Modolo knock off hood. Superbe and some Gran Compe brake levers were Campagnolo compatible. Dia Compe were not, so it's a bit confusing. The info on the Velo Orange website partly wrong, but they have them. These should fit.

Also, A'ME hoods were a common Modolo style hood from BITD. Still available on ebay in lots of garish late 80s colors, and much cheaper than Modolo. Presumably these are synthetic rubber, therefore they may still be in decent shape despite being NOS.

If you are considering options other than original, A'ME makes a Modolo-specific version.

Thanks everyone. I ordered a couple pair of Dia Compe anatomic hoods off of ... um, Amazon. I feel like I sell a bit of my soul every time I buy via "them." But when you are taking a chance I guess...

If I was keeping one of the bikes I would have went with the Rustines. One bike is too big and other is too small.
