Shells For Sale

New thread to not tangent from Kirk's New Here one.

I have 4 BB shells I am happy to let go. All Pacenti Artisan versions in 68 wide by 24tpi (std Eng).

3 are what were called XL 30x17. These are what were imaged in Kirk's thread, 34.9 DT, 31.8 ST and oval 30x17 stays with no cut outs.

1 is the same but for 31.8 DT and 28.6 ST sockets (OS), stays are still oval 30x17.

The photos show the 3 XLs grouped and the 1 OS in separated by the Sharpie.

$35 each. I paid around $28/30 years ago and think a few extra dollars for my storage if fair. Actual shipping will asked for and yet to be determined.

Since it was Nessism that asked if these were available I will give him first dibs. If he isn't interested or doesn't reply in a few days (and I have PMed him already) I will open these up to others. The next who askes will be who I contact next. Andy (who is keeping a few for those frames that likely won't ever be made)

Thanks for posting this Andy!

I'll take two of the XL 30x17's

If you quickly run out and someone wants one I'll reduce my request to one piece.

I'll send PM to discuss further.

Ed

Does it make sense to have a for sale thread in the Framebuilders sub? I'm assuming it would have to follow the same rules as other sub-sections.

We're special!

In fact, what about a special thread here just for us framebuilders? Offer up your spares for sale or trade. WTB too! Oooo. How cool would that be?

we used to have a for sale sticky in here. It got unstuck.

Andy is an upgraded member so there isn't an issue with that.

I've always thought that appropriate for sale threads in here were okay. Where else would you put them?

I thought there used to be. Just a sticky thread would be enough but open to other suggestions.

I'm not sure we need any other suggestions. Seems to work okay this way without any abuse.

Received two of the XL shells from Andy! Thanks so much!

I love my bikes with the XL tubing. They ride just fine and are nice and stiff through the BB. Ride quality has more to do with the fork and tires anyway, but BB stiffness is greatly influenced by the tubing.
