Female seats for the dudes
hi guys, so recently i just picked up an old 10 speed from my fellow neighbor and the seat had been chewed off so i decided to go buy it a new seat. I went into the store to pick one out and unfortunantely i had picked up a female seat ( it read on the side in small font women's contour dang me ><) anyways the seat has been at times been a nuisance to me as there is a oval shaped hold in the middle of it. my question is does it make that much of a difference if the seat was designed for women?
and if anyone can answer it:
why is there a oval shaped hole in the middle of the seat, i find my self at times (when i'm wearing shorts) somewhat caught in the hole if you gentlemen know what i mean, espcially when i'm sitting back down on the seat i gotta aim correctly -_-"

Not to my knowledge. Some claim yes, but I rode for a while on one (granted only 3 months) but I actually didn't mind at all. It wasn't bad but it wasn't really good either, just good.
The hole is there so that the meat curtains/lavia/sensitive areas don't get chaffed (like men some women have more "material" than others). I had a similar problem with that, but I don't know what to say about it except to get a handful of "yourself" and try to pull "it" up.
My experience is very limited with a male using these so take it with a grain of salt.
GOOD LUCK!

The main difference between saddles for men and women is that the latter are wider to accommodate the larger distance between the "sit bones" in women. This may or may not cause you problems.

This thread basically boils down to:
"I got my wang stuck in hole!"
"Pull it out! Meat curtains!"

I actually have tears rolling down my face from laughter.
Dude, if you keep riding that seat, you'll grow a vag!

Oh c'mon C0urt..
I've seen enough pictures of you (just in the last day or 2!) with other guys in skinny jeans to figure out that you must have some "hipster" friends.. ATL is filled with em. What's with all the Hipster Hate going on in this forum? I hate to "brake" it to you (pun intended) hipster hating Jocks, but tight jeans does not = *****exual or female.. As my good friend Lee has pinned to his Timbuk2, BIKE JOCKS ARE STILL JOCKS!!
Sorry.. Just trying to give a little defense to people's own choice of clothing. Not everyone wants to look like a JC Penny/ Sears/ Parisian clone or a spandexed-out twinkie when riding their bike or any other time. If you do, that's fine with me, just don't hate because someone may have different clothing choices than yourself.
Oh yeah.. And meat curtains are the best for blocking out the Sun's harsh UV rays!! They even keep themselves closed most of the time!!

I actually make fun of my friends in tight pants to mostly in the fun ribbing kinda way. I am cool with hipsters. just cant do the pants I need my wide legs

my saddle is more than likely a woman's saddle.
it's a san marco GLAMOUR aspide, and i should have guessed they wouldn't put the word glamour on a men's saddle. it's black, grey and white, and was labeled as a men's saddle, but it has the huge meat curtain bowl in the center.
it's very wide, but other than that not all that uncomfy.
luckily, it also flexes on the wings more than any saddle i've ever had. it's like they made it to wedge up into your juju forest and position that bowl right in the danger zone. the back is supportive and the front isn't so wide that it's uncomfy... it's just not optimal.
if i could go back, i'm sure there's another saddle that would fit my masculine underparts better, but as for now it's not that bad- and it's a leather/ti-alloy san marco... i'm not just going to let it sit because it's designed for big puffy lips. i just think of it as a way to teabag my bike.

this thread is so gross.
i had a friend ride my bike for a bit and he thought my selle italia women's saddle was more comfortable than his own. now he the same one on his bike but i don't think he tells people it's a women's model.
for the record "meat curtains" don't get stuck in there. it gets stuck because guys have a gigantic bag of marbles, and it's gotta go somewhere.

listen mens, it's already difficult enough finding a comfortable saddle without you buying up the lot. you can buy all of our pants that you want, but just let us have this one.

my junk doesn't get caught, but you probably will notice how wide it is and how little pressure is in the center of it. not at all like most saddles.
