Rhm #148 - adga
I just received a saddle RHM redid for me and I am beyond thrilled. He took an old brooks pro that I ripped (in a thunderstorm going up Torrey Pines last july) - it was probably too dried out to ride in the first place.
Anyway, I contacted RHM and we decided to go for a french "wink" putting an ADGA seal on it, to complement my peugeots.
Here are a couple of shots. Of note, RHM was concerned that the leather was not a uniform color (and offered to redo it), but to me, it lends wonderfully into the vintage patina. First ride today and it felt great.
Here are a couple shots on the 5 speed with fenders
Thanks Rudi!

Love it ! It complements the bike exactly. I think you were right to keep the first re-skin.
I might have a bike finally meant to have one of his saddles.

Dang, that looks nice!!! I love the variations in color - looks like it has already been used/aged. The workmanship looks pretty damned good as well. He's getting even better at this, isn't he???

Looks very nice!
French wink - not sure what that is. Enough beers in me, might have gone for one of those in my younger days.

Looks great - will have to get hold of him. Don't think I have enough postings either, so hopefully you're reading this, RHM. I've got at least three I'd like to get done. One is a Wright's that was NOS - didn't look rotted until I treated and tensioned it. Next morning, it tore itself apart. Wasn't great leather to begin with.

Indeed. The leather he uses is at least twice as thick as any factory saddles I own. Curious to know what his impressions are after coloring this one. The naturally colored ones he's done for me look fantastic, but I love the subtle changing shades on this one as well!

I initially wanted the natural coloring after seeing photos of other examples, but rhm said when mine dried, it was "blotchy and discolored" - natural wouldn't have looked good, so he dyed it brown. I was looking for the aged shading anyway, and am totally thrilled how this came out. Rhm did offer to redo it if I didnt like it.

I'm very interested in a saddle or two redone (Brooks and Wrights), and maybe donating a frame, but https://agreatvintage.com/ seems down. Does rhm still provide the service? I can't PM directly yet..
Thanks,
~Mac

He seems to get progressively better as he goes. Pretty soon he'll be the Richard Sachs, or Ray Davies, of saddle restoration.
