Much appreciated! It's just that the drooped nose and flared back saddles of that type work the best for me. Well, that and a Brooks B.17 or Pro too. Which one is that? Concor, or one of the few knockoffs?,,,,BD

This was a save from bulk rubbish pickup. Nothing special, but it didn't turn out too bad after a bit of TLC:

Nothing special, 4130 CroMo. I think "Superlite" was a bit of marketing hyperbole

That's a very nice looking bike, I never heard of the brand but apparently they've been around because I could find information on the intermet about them. It was Japanese steel and came out of the same factory that Centurion and Nishiki did but apparently the Repco brand was marketed to Australia from what I could find out instead of America as Nishiki and Centurion were, and like those two decal brands they had low to high end offerings with Suntour Superbe components. You can even join a Repco facebook site: https://www.facebook.com/groups/retrocyclingmarketau/

It does look a lot like the Nishiki Olympic I bought and gave to a friend a couple of years ago, same color scheme and fork design.

Nice bike and in a bulk rubbish dumpster, amazing what people will throw away.

BD, I think the bike is from 1989 and the saddle is a Vetta Mundial Racing saddle. I'll get some better pictures of it later on today. My workshop is a backyard shed, and it was 11 below last night! Might need to wait a bit before I head out there.

Centurion mixte that was taken from someone's trash is nearing completion. The only thing from the original bike is the frame, seatpost and brake calipers. Frame was powdercoated.

This pair of bikes came me from a friend who was cleaning up a family members home for sale. The "5 Star Cruiser" is a hoot to ride. The CCM Carrera will likely be given to a friend.

You may need to change the stem on the five star. We had a bunch of those over here called Jaguars, sold in Wally World. Even incredibly tight, you can easily move the bar in the stem.,,,,BD

Thanx BD, I'll keep an eye on it. It appears to be a decent quality alloy stem and the bar is tight.

I saved this one yesterday. I gave $20 for it. It's a Peugeot PH 8. I took off the light system, dork disc, reflectors, rotted tires :^) ,chain guard, safety brake levers, kickstand.. etc.. because it was all in bad shape anyway. Pity. I kept it all in a box just in case but it is pretty beat. The rear fender had a bad dent right on the light. The frame itself is in nice shape with only scratches to the paint (worst on rear seat stays) and no dents. Although I'm sure rusty inside. This bike was neglected.

This one came with equipped with Sachs Huret Eco rear and front. Sachs stem shifters, Maillard wheelset with Rigida Super Chromix rims that are badly pitted. Ugh!!, I've SOS'd them but they are wrinkled in the chrome in many areas. I might oxalic bath them for a few days but I think I may look for another Maillard wheelset.

I am not sure of the crankset. It has an "S" and is Made in France. One of those one piece jobs. Simplex, Sachs, Stronglight? Anyways, I noticed the drive side pedal was cross threaded when I got it home. The arm is completely toast. Unless they make a french threaded helicoil that is readily availabIe? was able to save the Lyotard pedal though after I scraped the stripped aluminum out of the threads with a thick sewing needle grasped with pliers. While my other hand gripped an allen wrench to hold it inches away from the needle. That sucked!

Anyway, here are pics of it this morning. I ended up installing a pair of Aero Gran Compe levers but noticed the return spring and pin are missing on one of them. Damn! I'm gonna need a few more things for this one. But the centerpulls were in really good shape. I may try to de-safetify the Weinman levers.. but I kinda like the aero routing.. and the rear brake feels nice all set up.

Neglevted= neglected and left. Sad combination for a bike.

Crank could be a Solida. Glad to hear the frame is okay, some frame saver and you're good to build. Hope it fits you.

Picked up my first (non-deathtrap) road bike today, a 1995 Schwinn Passage. It cleaned up pretty well, just needs brake pads and tires. I'll probably end up changing out the saddle and the stem for one that's shorter and not black. Don't think the front wheel is original, but both wheels seem pretty beat up so I might end up replacing them or just using the wheelset off of my hybrid since they're both 21 speed. Can't really ride it too well yet since I had collarbone surgery a couple weeks ago, though.

I really like the look of the Exage hoods.

Came with some clipless shoes that fit, too!

Nice catch ! Shoes to boot( yes, I said it).

Exage hoods are very comfortable and the quick release feature button on the inside side of the hood is great too.

Sorry to hear about the wait time before riding. Heal well!

The Centurion Mixte has been completed, and moved on to a new life. It probably would have been razor blades by now!

Save a bike, don't shave!

Nice job on the restore. Fenders would be the next best thing for that Centurion.

1972 (I think) Raleigh Twenty. Lots of original goodness. Crusty, but solid.
