I would get "unicorn" fork a lot.

One is a Bruce Gordon BLT, another tourer with a lively ride and room for tires.
The fourth is my winter bike, so I try not to love it as it's getting beat on -- a Rockhopper from the early nineties, with fenders and snow tires.
Unicrowns: "strong and functional, hard to see while you're riding."

Sorry to make you sad and its not personal, it is what it is.

I don't have to see it while riding, I can feel the dullness when riding one and then have to see it when I get off the bike, double downer for me.

Its also sad that bi-plane, lugged, sculpted, ornate and beautiful crowns were swept away seemingly overnight with the stroke of likely a bean counters pen and the market was immediately flooded with the new "stronger, functional, cheaper" uni's.

Next thing you know, they started to invade road bikes and then even more lugged goodness was being swept away so now you have to pay very dearly for any that is exemplary.

As I stated above, I have some that are fine for what they are and may end up with more, we'll see.

Ditto here. I didn't mean to dis anybody's preferences. They simply aren't for me. I offer this recent example from John Barron showing how lovely a fork can be. The fork is part of a complete frame from Simone d'Urbino who took over for Alberto Masi at the Vigorelli. (This image is from Instagram which makes it waaay more difficult than it should be to save an image, so this is just a low-res screen grab. I realize a competent framebuilder could probably have built 87 Unicrown forks with the labor involved in this one example.)

Nothing that you can't accomplish in the pursuit of filthy lucre.

Exactly and I'll bet we can bet that that legal weighed in on the CYA aspect and slammed the door on anybody that was still advocating for the "old, dangerous, too costly way".

Pretty sure the robots build a 1000 or 10,000 in that amount of time.

Its also funny, not, how Ritchey designed the lugged crown that solved many problems only to shelve it and do the uni once he realized it would make him rich.

guy has several others and all look pretty nice.
This person always has a ton of bikes on offer. They're easy to spot as the pics are all shot in this same shipping container. Usually has some pretty nice stuff but never really priced to move.

Maybe a little high priced? Does look pretty clean, though.

Excellent 1989 Rossin 60cm Columbus SL Campagnolo Chorus Cinelli - $1,000 (Shakopee)

CL MN Rossin

Excellent Condition 1989 Rossin 60cm Columbus SL + Campagnolo Chorus + Cinelli

Up for sale is a 1989 vintage Rossin Columbus SL 60cm road bike in excellent condition.

Background: I built up this bike in 1989 as a college student working in a bike shop. I finally had built my dream bike and then I graduated, started the professional grind, and this bike saw little use for the next 34 years. Last season, I took it out of storage and got it ready to ride, only to find that 700x28c @ 100 psi doesn't suit me anymore. If I was into collecting, I'd just keep it, but I've reached a point in life where less is more.

Details: The bike is equipped with a Campagnolo Chorus 7-speed groupset (crankset, brakes, levers, headset, bottom bracket, seatpost, derailleurs). The crank is 175mm, 53/42. The stem is Cinelli XA 120mm with a Cinelli Giro D'Italia 64-40 bar. The only parts that are not original are the rear derailleur jockey pulleys; they are upgraded.

This listing is for the bike less saddle, pedals, and wheels, as shown. This bike had been used with a Dura-Ace 7-speed (Uniglide Freehub) wheelset of the same vintage. That pairing yielded crisp, precise shifts with the Capagnolo 7-speed indexing so finding a compatible wheelset should be straightforward. That wheelset with new(ish) 700c X 28 gatorskins is available for another $300.

There are only minor cosmetic issues with the bike, and I've tried to capture those in the photos. You will not be disappointed in the condition of this bike.
