If one isn't overly concerned about keeping the bike vintage oem correct it is fairly easy cheap to swap out the 27's for nicer set of alloy 700's with the right tires they will look part and won't effect hurt value.

Sturdy, reliable, easy to service and based on what you find at your local big box, I would say yes.......how many big box bike will be around in 50 years?
Best, Ben

It has an old fauber-style crank. Maybe something that you do not want to deal with.

Here's one that I paid $6.82 for last Feb. I replaced the tires, cables and bar tape, overhauled the wheels, BB and headset bearings. Lots of hours spend cleaning. Sold it for $149. You too can make $10 of dollars restoring vintage bikes

in my opinion, it looks like a very usable bike.
In Toronto, where it is possible to ride a bike all year long, a PRESTO TTC subway and streetcar pass for an adult costs $158.00 per month or $1,716.00 per year.

That is one thousand, seven hundred and sixteen dollars. Per year. Every year.

So, for students, unemployed, or underemployed people, owning a cheap, strong bicycle like this one can be the difference between affording groceries and not affording groceries.

Had to lol at this one. What a great comment.

Like others have said, if you want it and its going to bring great fun, heck why not! But it would need to be a sentimental, romantic thing with this specific bike, in this specific color, in this specific size. There are a lot of $90 bikes out there that are higher end than this one. If you are patient, you will absolutely find one. Still, cheap thrills.
