Just Google the item needed and add Sale on the end.

I'd check out *********************** for deals on parts. Not much in the way of clothing

Usually Bike Nashbar.

I know why now as well.

Happened to be in Canfield, Ohio today. Curious as to what the Bike Nashbar headquarters and warehouse building looked like.
Let's say... If you can't say anything nice, say nothing at all. I will say I initially passed the building due to building looking like it was abandoned.

And why would it have to be pretty? They're a catalog and online outfit. It's not like they're competing in a beauty pageant.

Reminds me of a nearby (to me) mail- and web-based audiophile equipment and record sales company, The Elusive Disc, in Anderson, IN. Nothing much to look at outside.

Not having to worry about outward appearances and upkeep of the grounds to make it pleasing to the eye of the non-existent in-store customer means they can pass the savings to the online buyer. And, of course, a better profit margin.

Oh, and if cheap is your primary motivation, then anyone who sells stolen bike parts would be your best bet.

On a recent occasion, I did some online price comparisons on chain and rear cassettes for my road bike. Then I called Performance and asked if they could do a price match. Yes, they did. I might add that I am a "Team Performance" member. So I pay that annual membership fee and qualify to get points each time I shop there.

To beat the shipping and handling, I asked to have it shipped to my Performance bike store near my home. Then it was no charge for shipping and handling. I got an email from Performance that the package is ready for my pickup.

I think it has to be from a reputable source. I chose ProBikeKit as the low price comparison. It just happened that there was a sale that day.

I've passed by the local Performance Bike shops for years. Finally having bought a new bike I went in out of curiosity. I was surprised with the variety and higher grade gear they have. I also found out they have a military discount (retired Navy). Very impressive.

I usually find Amazon has the lower prices and a wide selection, especially if you have prime for free 2 day shipping on prime items. I rarely use bike specific sites unless there is a sale.

I agree with almost everybody above. I get a lot of stuff from Amazon with free shipping. I also sometimes get stuff from legit dealers with storefronts on eBay, usually using "buy it now". I find EU brands (Michelin, Continental, 3T, Deda Elementi, Look, Campy, etc...) are often cheapest at Ribble and shipping is very reasonable, though it sometimes takes up to 2 weeks with stuff getting delayed at the US port of entry. If it's some specific item and brand, it doesn't take more than a few minutes searching to find the best price among the many usual suspects listed above.

I have used Amazon.com for two bike related purchases and I chose the 7-11 locker system for delivery. I like it.

Always check their Amazon page compared to their website - prices and shipping are sometimes cheaper via Amazon.
