Rode today. Short ride. No problems. Probably longer ride tomorrow. Maybe this afternoon.
Adjusted saddle a little. Been meaning to do that anyway.
Thanks for input. No results yet. Thought I might get result yesterday. Hopefully Monday. Was not especially worried about it, but now having had the biopsy I am a little more stressed about the result.
But it will be what it will be and whatever it is, I will deal with it.

I had my biopsy KNOWING there was an issue since my PCP felt a lump when she did her DRE on me. Problem was that I delayed (stupid me) having a biopsy due to training for an upcoming Ironman Triathlon. I prepared myself for being told I had Prostate Cancer (PCa), did online research about treatments but did not expect it to be as bad as it was. Never freaked out or felt a "Woe Is Me or Why Me" just dealt with it.

Life deals you good cards and bad cards. I could get the worst possible news on Monday and life would have dealt me many more good cards than bad cards. Whatever this is, it will be a new experience. An adventure of sorts. I will learn and meet new people. Face challenges. Keep a good attitude and maybe help others who have trouble maintaining a good attitude. I think I am psychologically prepared for whatever it is.
My PCP felt something in DRE last fall. Went to urologist, he felt something too. Went for MRI which showed the 4 mm suspicious spot, but in a different location from what they felt. It is possible that what they felt is something or nothing, it did not show up on MRI. Radiologist graded the suspicious spot 4 on a 1 to 5 scale of cancer risk. Urologist said that translated to about 50% chance it is cancer. Since the suspicious spot was small and prostate cancer is usually slow growing, I was going to wait until April after ski trip to have biopsy. Urologist said that would be okay, low risk that treatment options would be different at that time than earlier.
After talking to friends, some of whom are doctors, I decided to go ahead and do biopsy sooner. I think that was a good choice.
I am expecting that it will be a positive result, but with a low Gleason score because the spot is small and my PSA is normal (2.7). But PSA rose from about 1.5 to 2.7 over the past three years. My guess is that this has been growing for a few years and that is the reason for the rising PSA. But PSA could also be explained by mild BPH - 40 cc per MRI, 47 cc per ultrasound. At age 61, it will probably make sense to treat it, but perhaps not immediately depending on biopsy result.
On the other hand, not all Prostate Cancer shows up in PSA and it is possible that it is not just in the suspicious spot. It is possible that I could have a really bad prognosis.

I had 3 biopsies over the years starting in 2007. PSA was 3.2 but i was only 46. That was negative. Then 8 months later it is 3.8 and another biopsy that was negative. PSA was running around 4.2 or so then in 2013 go in and it was 9.3. I thought for sure I had cancer and had the biospy. That was negative and that was the one I road my bike 30 miles after the biopsy. They checked the PSA level again after this in about 3 months and it dropped back to 4.5. Well I had BPH pretty bad and was going to the bathroom 15 times a day and could not empty bladder. I had green light surgery in May 2018 and wow that was a deal but as they had bleeding had to go right back into surgery. The good news was that really help my urinating as I was able to go and back to pretty much normal. Before that on a 50 mile bike ride I would sometime needs to go 4 times in 3 hours.
So then about 6 months later they did another PSA and my level was 2.4. The lowest it had been since I was at least 44 years old now 59. I still have to get the PSA checked but the green light laser surgery to relieve the BPH was great. It took a bit to bounce back from that but with 3 weeks I could run and road the bike at about 4 weeks. I did have to back off after 2 rides as lots of blood in the urine. Then maybe about 9 weeks out was fine. In the end get things checked out.

Deacon Mark. Good to hear things worked out well for you.
Rode 30 miles today. No issues. Probably could have gone back to riding sooner.
Really hoping to get results Monday. Whatever the results are, would like to get on with it.

Going to do a 50 mile loop next weekend. Then gradually work up to longer. Longest ever is 65 miles. Goal for this year is 100 miles. Maybe horrible 100 in November. Maybe a triathlon. Have never done one but always wanted to.

Still no biopsy results. Samples are stuck in transit to Texas Path Lab due to weather and power disruptions. Very annoying to have to wait so long for results. Apparently the samples are put in a preservative so that they will last. Would be a bummer if the samples spoiled and I had to repeat the biopsy.

I find it odd that someone in Florida had their biopsy samples sent to Texas when all of my testing and pathology was done right here in Kalamazoo.
By the way, I'm scheduled for an MRI in early June.

I was also surprised that they sent the biopsy to Texas. They claim it is to have a specialist look at it. Perhaps. Or perhaps the hospital has a financial interest in the path lab in Texas and it is about the money. But you would think if the hospital had an interest in a path lab, it would be here.
But no use in stressing. Nothing I can do about it. It will be what it will be.

Considered by many to be the PREMIER DR. for Pathology review is >>> https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/prof...nathan-epstein
What ever the results are GET A SECOND OPINION!!!!! and Dr. Epstein would be my choice.

Took close to 4 weeks for mine to clear up after my 14 core biopsy a few years back. All negative though, a great thing

Not good news. Six cores G6, one G7 (3+4), one G7 (4+3) and one G8. Sending to Epstein for second opinion. Doctor says it will require treatment. More tests to determine if spread outside of prostate. Then consults with Radiation Oncologist and surgical urologist. Doctor says no rush. May take a few months to work through tests and consults. But I am not going to dilly dally. Git er dun!
Went for a bike ride today. Going for a hike tomorrow.

Cancer survivor (twice)
I had similar results, I elected to have the prostate removed. The 3 month follow up showed that it was not all gone. I had radiation and now all is good. I rewarded myself with a new bike. Good luck and keep us updated. The first ride after was incredible!

DON"T jump on a treatment modality WITHOUT DUE DILLEGENCE regarding research. The Gleason Score Total should not determine your treatment because a 3+4 = 7 IS NOT a 4 + 3 = 7.

Bone scan - no evidence of metastasis. Now wait to hear from doctor for next step. More tests? Consultation with specialists? Not sure what is next.

Good luck @Sorg67. Thanks for starting this post. 55 here and found out last week that PSA went from 3.5 to 7.5 in a year. My 54 yr brother had the same thing happen last year went form 2 to 8. He had a biopsy and has a Gleason score of 6. Waiting for the referral to a urologist for further follow up. Not totally surprised as there's family history and I'm really at peace about it. I also have a strong support network and that's really encouraging.

Good luck to you as well scozim "at peace about it" is my objective as well. I will do my best to stay healthy, educated and make good decisions but ultimately the outcome is out of my hands. Whatever happens, I will have peace if did all I could do and made the best decisions I could with the information available.
PLEASE research the daylights out of this topic and checking out some Prostate Cancer Forums for VERY CURRENT INFORMATION is IMO, ESSENTIAL. GLEASON 6 or 3+3 IS NOT A KILLER (METASTASIZING) CANCER. Many men have radical treatments when in certain instances simple Active Surveillance is fine.

If you don't like the first opinion, second opinion is a must. First doctor I saw wanted to hack it out ASAP. Second doctor, one of the best in the country put me on wait and see. Second, if you do need it removed find a doctor that does nerve sparing surgery. Not all do, or care about your future ($$$).
