Raleigh Tri Lite with Dia Compe brakes

I’m finally about to get out and ride.
i have a late ‘80s Raleigh Tri Lite Technium.
I posted pics and details about it years ago but nevee really followed up.
I was reading about other riders swapping components.
Is there any reason to replace the Dia Compe brakes on my bike?

edited to add: I really just need to know if the Dia Compe brakes are safe or if there is a strong reason to upgrade them.

Do they stop you safely and consistently?
Do you need to mentally prepare or take precautions every time you use them?
