So that's it. I'm stepping out the door. This morning I weighed in at 200. I still plan to lose a few more pounds, but not much.

Well -- here's mine .. 275lbs before -- 165lbs after. Took 19 months. Did it with a well-known international weight loss organisation that I went on to worked for until just recently -- oh -- and bike riding.

Nice legs, eh?

I had been drinking a Dr Pepper every evening at dinner. Then one day, got one of the hugh kidney stones, about 3/4 of an inch. So for the first one I did not take note. I just kept doing what I had been doing. Well, about 6 months later, I had a second that was not as big but as painful. So the DR said that I should try to stop those, and well I did. I have been stone free for about 5 years now. I had also lost about 30 lbs, and well I managed to put that back on, due to a bad knee injury. I had been doing Martial Arts for a long while. Then the knee said no more of that. SO I am hoping to get back on a bike again really soon. Thank you for all the inspiring stories.

question about your weight loss

I'm very impressed by the weight loss results so many of you have posted. I also am on this journey, I currently weigh 275# my top weight was 315#s. I am 6'-1" tall
My question to all of you is, what are your weekly riding routines? how many miles do you you ride weekly on this weight loss quest.
I seem to be stuck at #275, also the more I ride the more I eat.
I currently ride between 12 and 15 miles a day , a minimum of 5 days a week. I'm riding at approx 12mph average. with lots of hills.

Your body may have gotten used to the way you work out. Break up the routine and try doing fewer miles on a few days and the 15 miles on every other day. But the fewer mile days, try to hit the hillier aspects of your ride.

I've also noticed that I started not losing the weight, because I was doing the same thing and it becomes boring. Ride different routes and make it more interesting.

I too have the problem with wanting to eat more when I ride. I've tried to change what I eat when I'm ravenous at times. Fruits and veggies as a snack before my meal after I ride has helped.

FIRST AND FOREMOST - THIS THREAD IS AMAZING AND A HUGE CONGRATS TO EVERYONE THAT MADE THE DECISION TO BE IN BETTER HEALTH!

My quick story.

I used to weigh ~285 lbs then lost it and got down to 185 lbs pre-wedding (5 years ago).

I am now 210lbs and looking to lose 25. Going to ride more and get stricter with my diet! Wish me luck! Will check by in in a few months with results.

thanks for the reply, makes sense to break up the workout a bit. I had found myself getting a bit bored. I found eating an orange or something after my ride is really helping. Now if I can just lay off the peanut butter.

Thought I would post a current and before picture. Still need to lose another 80lbs and working hard on it. I've so far lost 240lbs. Not taking any medication, did not have surgery, just trying to watch fat intake and working out. I've had my ups and downs of course. No longer taking medicine for high blood pressure and am no longer diabetic. Still using my sleep bipap machine though, but hoping to get off that in about 6 months. Currently trying to get off a 3 month streak of losing no weight.

First pic is me at my Xmas party in Dec. 2015. The second was taken on 8/26/16 when I got home from my ride. That ride put me over the 1,000 mile mark since June 1st. I was 314lbs in the first photo and now down to 269. I bike, work out and eat less than 2,000 cals a day.... I haven't felt this good since I played football many moons ago.

Hello, I just ordered a bike (Diamondback Insight 1) to add in a little more cardio into my life other than walking and jogging. I've lost 55 lbs this year, hopping taking up cycling with help with the rest. This first before pic is from a few years ago, no idea what I weighed then the second before pic is from January of this year at 240 lbs I'm down to 185 now.

Updated the initial post

UPDATE: January 31, 2017. 273 lbs

Reaching the 274 lbs goal was slowed down by too much work in October - November - December. That did not allow me to train as much, and fitness suffered. I did start a 6 week FTP builder program which helped me get back on track fitness wise, and to drop a lot of weight. I did alter my nutrition too, mostly to maximize the benefits of training, without muscle ache.

I track my weight daily and have a 30 day forecast based on the fast trend (7 day moving average), and the slow trend (30 day moving average) to give me an idea of where current habits would lead me in the long run. If someone want the Excel spreadsheet, just message me.

Blood pressure is now bouncing about the upper limits of optimal, as seen in the chart below. Resting HR is very nice.

The new goal is 249 lbs; no reward associated with the goal except feeling even better every day.
