Not likely, I ride for my own pleasure anytime I feel like it, I stop riding when I feel (enough) pain, which eludes me from major surgeries.
My fashion is more towards euro racer (typical hardcore fashion) than typical recumbent rider.
Best wishes to your RAAM 2009 bid, I hope to be able to cheer you on and see you kick some wedgy butts.
Let me know if you're in need of assistance when you get close to Philly area.

Thanks for the offer. We'll see if we get the funding for the team, and if so I may take you up on it! My cycling didn't have anything to do with the surgery, thankfully, or I'd have given it up.

re: tandem trike
I was just looking at the picture of your tandem trike. Can you give me any specifics. I am thinking about one, but I am looking for something that is easily adjustable for many riders. How is this bike?
Any other pointers to look for?

I love it. It is awesome. Just got it on 4-5-08. Although I am a little worried about traffic, I definitley feel vulnerable being low to the ground. I live in San Jose, CA. A lot of cars on the road. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Comments?

Can't say about CA, but around here in Wisconsin, the cars give me much more room than they do on any two wheeler. Just remember sometimes they'll think you're going slower than you actually are and may cut in front of you.

That one is canvas, the bottom is all open. Both side windows have zippers top & bottom so they roll up, and I have silver sandwich insulation to velcro to the white top (not in photo)
My other trike is fully closed fiberglass/kevlar. Same insulation- about 6 square yards: think "Thermos" on steroids!

Thanks Steve. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I've ridden it in a century and in a bike show as well as tooling around town.

homebuilt FWD MBB no-weld on Houston to Austin MS150
I recently road my bent on the MS150 from Houston to Austin. It was a blast. I didn't have to walk a hill and no SAGs (two flats and some dérailleur problems, though). Here are some pictures.

Thanks! The color was chosen off a small internet paint chip, so we had not a clue what it would look like when all done. turned out fantastic! Even the pic above is not quite what it always looks like, as it just seems to change color no matter what the light conditions happen to be...
And the ride-- pure Cadillac Cush! Even at the HUGE price tag that thing costs, I would buy another
in a heartbeat if it were stolen.
