They oil (?) the roads here in Arizona. At least, parts of Route 66. About 2 or 3 months ago, I rode up behind a crew doing it. It's really messy, if you don't give it time to dry some, before walking or driving on it. I finally wised up, and took a couple hours' break, to let them get way ahead. 😉

and we have plenty of the assembled wind turbines here, scattered through the corn fields. In addition to reducing the amount of coal burned at the local power plant, I like to think that the wind turbines are improving my life by blocking some of the wind, especially during windy bike rides in the fall and spring.
