I purchased a home and found this under the house. Obviously it's not operational but didn't know if someone might want it before I take it to recycling. I had to put fair condition, Haha! FREE
The rims look ok, and maybe also the cranks (minus the chainrings). Maybe the rack is usable? The price is right, and I applaud the sentiment of trying to double-check if there's any way to reuse before recycling

I had similar thoughts but getting those cranks off may be a struggle. Is there anything recyclable?

The frame is steel

I don't know if aluminum could be tossed in with all the beer cans

They do something with car tires, don't they? Although I have no idea if any bicycle tires have ever been included

Alas, no, not with bike tires. Unlike car tires, there isn't enough rubber relative to the amount of metal in the bead to make it worth the while of recyclers to extract it. The shops here, and even the City Streets Division recycling staff, have researched it and had no luck. If that ever changes, I'd love to hear about it, as would our City recycling staff.

All it needs is a few empty beer cans and some cable ties.

1996 Gary fisher Klunker a reminder of the original 1974 Klunker, can't find the original then get this one that was made again by gary fisher In 96 and interesting enough this one is not stock and has been upgraded with top of the line parts of that Era like with white industries front and back gold plated sealed hubs laced on snowcat wheel loops (rare) with klein deathgrip tires front and back, white industries crankset, spindle might be titanium, curve cantilever brakes with ritchey logic brake pads, handlebars have also been upgraded to titanium and upgraded shimano xt brake levers and shifters,it has the original shimano stx front and rear derailleurs and shimano cassette it came with tioga surefoot pedals of that Era too, Asking $1950.00 Remember this is a very RARE bike,It also comes with a rockshox Judy sl front fork of that Era with a yellow matching stem if you want to change it up here and there for your prefered trails, yellow fork does fit on this bike too *** Bike is in phoenix*** cash only

I'm sure it is RARE, and that's a lot of White Industries on there, but still I don't think obsolete mtb tech carries that much value

My apologies to anyone who thinks these bikes are worth this much.

Two things funny to me:

1. They want to meet in front of the police station.

2. All the stuff that isn't included for your $4,500!

I mean, you can buy a brand new Gus Boots Willsen frame for $2000, so you just gotta ask yourself whether it would cost $2500 to build it up

So you want C&V?

A positive side of aging is that every year we see less and less junk for sale that BITD was junk when it was new.

Having said that, the owners of said junk think it's valuable!
Ps. You don't even get new tires for $500
