Picture taken after 2nd wash - yea that dirty. The ad was a non drive side pic so I figured RX-100 or Deore. Turned out to be Deore with 105 shifters, hubs, brakes. Vetta seat that I may try my hand at recovering and Carbon Look pedals. Not my size so I was going to do a quick fix but the purple paint is in great shape and begged for a rub down. Metallic blue sparkles in the sun and it turns almost black in shadow. The rims don't even have wear marks yet. Just snipped the cables. That's my no turning back moment. Gonna tear it down and do it right. Not bad for $40.

Finally finished up the 700c road/gravel conversion of my 1995 GT Tequesta. Veloce 10sp shifters & front derailleur, Centaur 11sp rear derailleur, Shimano Alivio (cr18) wheels, Sunrace 10sp cassette, Dia Compe 610 style unbranded center pull brakes. Shifting is working pretty well but I’m waiting for a Jtek Shiftmate to arrive to clean it up. Time to tweak my position setup... it’s been 20+ years since I’ve had a drop bar bike. ;^) Oh yea... and I got it painted...

Last Fall, I found myself in need of some headset spacers, in a bike-part desert, so I found some washers at a hardware store, which worked fine, but kinda kludged looking.
So, today I pulled all that off and slipped on some proper spacers.
As I've lost over 100 lbs since last Summer, I think I'll be taking the riser off and get back to a more familiar riding position. I had to put the riser on a couple of my bikes to keep my gut from pushing into my lungs.

Also, waiting for some bits and bobs so I can start working on Jake. (2000 Kona Jake the Snake) Just been sitting for a few years, so new brakes, cables, tires, and I'll be checking all the moving parts, clean and re-lube as needed. Really looking forward to getting back on ol' Jake. I used to basically live on that bike.

Finally rehabbing the Lemond with 145 mm Cobb cranks and some nice Suntour bits with bar cons.. Crank is worth 2 times the value of the bike but I need them.

It's a rider so I'll touch up the paint, nothing fancy. I've said it before, these True Temper production frames are a treat to ride.

Last weekend, I spread my frame with a threaded rod and aligned the dropouts. This weekend, I added a derailleur claw and aligned that with the proper Park tool. I started hanging components on it. I got many of the components from @sloar a couple of years ago. He bought a new bike and stripped it right away, so these parts are new.

I discovered the front derailleur has a 34.9mm clamp diameter, so I'll need a shim.

I forgot to shoot the rear derailleur, a Claris.

For now, I'll use the BB that's already in the frame rather than the one pictured. I think the frame has a UN-55 in it, a good one.

The rear wheel is from Chicago craigslist which (I think) @52telecaster snagged for me.

The bolt that screws the derailleur claw on was interfering with the cassette, so I ground it shorter, and that seems good.

It took me too long, but after my ST400 was stolen, I built this up over the winter.

I had an old Miyata 610 with a busted fork and acquired an newer (but still old) Aquila Strada Max with a cracked head tube.

Miyata meet Aquila, Aquila meet Miyata.

Should work for roads and trails. I’ve got the original rear rack but misplaced the bolts. They’re not the standard size mount braze ons so need to locate those.

Anyway, this is my first ever build, so tell me what I did wrong. 😀

@Jay.Money, it looks good. Maybe your front derailleur is high, but if it works, leave it there. What front rack is that? I like it.

The derailleur looks a little higher in the picture than in real life. Seems to work, but it’s a big jump so I need to fiddle with it a bit.

Front rack is from Portland Design Works. I found it used locally. It comes with a waterproof roll top bag that clips in. Just the right size for a six pack and some stuff on top. Designed by hipsters for hipsters.😀

Getting my hands dirty in the basement today, as I had a little home-alone time.

I couldn't get the brake pads not to rub on the wide tires on the M500, so I swapped 'em with the 1 1/4" tires from my wife's trek. All good now, and I plan to give that one a test ride this week, even though its mission has pretty much evaporated. I was building it as a weight-loss bike, for when I was well over 350 lbs. 250 now, and comfortable enough with riding my other bikes now. Still, I built it, and I'm gonna ride it some. Probably use it for the downtown casual rides.
Also, new brake pads.

Jake is my project now, and a little more involved, but still not too bad. I took good care of this bike over the nearly 40,000 miles we have together.
The st5500 105 brifters are gummed up. I'll give 'em a flush this weekend to see if that works, but that's only out of curiosity, as I've ordered a set of Dura Ace bar-ends, which will go on once they arrive. Also ordered some Tektro levers. I'll replace the hideous cow-pattern bar tape then, too.
The rear wheel is in great shape, built by one of the Erics at Chainwheel in Little Rock. Front rim was a bit worn, so I swapped it with my LHT's stock front (that bike has a Clyde wheelset right now), which looks close enough to matching that most won't even notice.
For the time being, I have a set of 35c Panaracer Paselas on Jake.
Brake pads on this bike, too, but I'll probably upgrade them with Kool Stops once he's otherwise dialed in.

More like sawing than wrenching. I bought a used ryobi table saw, very low end, and made a new top for it so i could build some speaker cabinets,

Before leaving to come home, I tore down the new Trek, dismantling the wheels as well. It made the trip with one cable guide still attached. That one will have to he reconstructed, possibly with 700c instead of the 27" it had. The rims didn't make the cut, but I have the Sunshine low flange hubs with me.

I also brought an 88 Centurion Ironman frame and fork, which will be built up in the coming weeks. Then I will be done buying bikes. Feel free to remind me if the need arises.

Added more bling to my Trek Fuel. Plasti-dipped the Fox fork and added new decals. If it falls apart, the old stuff is underneath. lol

Just wrenched on the 1982-1983 Bridgestone Spica (the Rolling Stone, aka the $20 score). Just installed a new Kenda front tire, new tube ($32), installed a new bottle cage (Bontrager, Red, which is a nice match with the frame) and another $12). Did some considerable cleaning on the chainrings, the hubs, the frame, and will later on clean the rims.

Raleigh crank which just came to me. Going on the 85 Marathon. First step is disassemble and clean. Easier written then done! Chainring bolts are rusted solid. Time for drilling on most. Finally done and all cleaned up. It was fun in a strange way and satisfying when finished.

Finally got around to installing a Megarange 34t 6 speed and new chain on my '78 Super Course project. The VGT Luxe was just ticking the spokes in the big rear gear. I added a spacer behind the freewheel, and tweaked the derailleur range limits - all good now. I only paid $20 for the frame and bits back in February, but been too busy to work on it. Finally getting there. I think it will be a good bike. Somehow it feels lighter than my '73 SC.

As bought, $20 on CL.

Completed drivetrain tonight.
