Back to the butcher shop lol

I need my hand operated on and I know I need to get it done now. this time last year I had my foot operated on to remove that same dupuytrens stuff out of my foot. Cruised around on a scooter for months and that was much better than crutches. 5 months no bike. Finally back into decent shape and now back to the butcher shop for my hand Today I’m a heat exhausted, dehydrated and grouchy. My insurance now requires me to see my regular doctor so I can see the surgeon. Makes no sense! So I guess I am going to get this over with while it is hot as an oven. The hand procedure won’t be that bad I will be able to walk so I can keep moving around. I will miss riding my bikes. I remind myself that it could be much worse. I’m just frustrated right now but I know what the right decision is.

My father used to call doctors "sawbones".

Hondo Gravel, good luck with the hand. Heal fast, heal completely.

Going to see the butcher's PA on Friday to set up a carving session Dupuytrens contracting my right hand again. Funny thing is when I called to make the appointment I could sense the sigh of relief when I said Blue Cross Blue Shield. I have to go to my primary doctor to see the butcher but this butcher is the primary doctor’s brother. Get this over with the sooner the better.

Thanks. This will be number 4 on my right hand Unfortunately dupuytrens comes back first operation in 1994 when I was 26 now another one on 2019 at 51. Last one was in 2015. Left hand has been carved several times too. I was telling my neighbor about being carved like a pumpkin. Her daughter says they should put a candle in me and I could be a jack o’ lantern I’m still laughing how witty that little girl’s comment was. Mom was like NOOO until she saw how funny I thought it was.

Back to the Butcher shop

My right hand has been operated on twice in about 10 years and the left about 10 years ago. Fortunately it is apparently simple on the hands but I would guess the feet would keep you off the bike for awhile. My left is near time for surgery but I'll wait until it is more claw like. At least a claw can hold onto the bars.

Got a bent 90 degree pinky starting to pull my other fingers in. I can still ride the bike no problem but from past experience letting it get worse makes the operation more difficult and extensive. Then after that is fixed my other hand gets butchered to release my thumb before permanent damage Being a blue eyed viking with nothing but Northern European blood is the main factor. This stuff shows up in other races and when they research the genetic line they find a Northern European from generations ago. Interesting but not so much for me

They could at least extend the middle finger, just in case...

Heal fast and well, H.G!
