Speaking of such, we celebrate for the whole month of December!

I've been doing my pre-solstice, pre-Christmas and pre-birthday rides for the past few weeks and will continue for 2 more weeks. Sadly I'll be celebrating the solstice in the hospital. Having surgery on Dec 21 and the doc says I may go home the next day but more likely after 2 days. Then no riding for 2 to 4 weeks.

Rides like your Solstice one are great fun. Newport R.I. Ten Speed Spoke bike shop organizes a shortest day of the year ride. They also do a longest day in June. Both are very well attended. Enjoy your ride to celebrate Oregon's new champions.

Open to suggestions! Weather dependent...
Longest night of year might mean a pub stop, ( the stories I have to tell...) And a shortest day of the year ride would require a good cup of coffee!

I'll think about it a bit. I suppose it depends a bit on how busy the holiday season gets.
I tried a ride with Gears a few weeks ago.

Oh, yes, the Tuesday rides are the hilly days. The ride I went on, we headed up Fox Hollow / Spencer's Butte, wandered around Lorane, and came back up over Greenhill Rd into town.
Anyway, depending on how big of a crowd you can attract, perhaps one could join their ride.
Christmas season can get a bit hectic for me, but the 22 is probably ok.
I do ride more or less rain or shine, and sometimes after dark. But, I try to avoid significant ice and snow. The I've been drenched the last 3 rides

After running the idea past several locals and friends, taking into account the possible weather and dark, and not knowing who might show up, I decided to do a "Pub Ride + Social" Monday evening the 21rst.
Starts at Planktown in downtown Springfield at 6pm. Eat dinner and meet and greet. Bright green flyers are at several LBS's
