Toronto inner city rides
Anyone have any suggestions for 30ish km rides in Toronto? I live in the city (mid town) and would like to avoid heavy traffic if possible.

Oh man, you've got lots of great options! I lived a Younge & St. Clair for a few months, and enjoyed the riding in the area. The whole Don Valley trail system is your playground.
In general, grab a copy of the Toronto Cycling Network Map. The numbered routes are generally really pleasant. Use those to connect to trail systems like the Don Valley, Humber Valley (though that might push you over 30km), Kay Gardner Beltline, West Toronto Railpath and the Waterfront trails.
I've attached a couple of specific rides I did (zipped GPX files). I hope that helps.

There is a meetup.com group called "toronto bike meetup." Look it up. During the week there are evening rides about 30km. I don't go to them just because they're more downtown-ish and don't work with my schedule well. The weekend rides are anywhere from 60km-160km in various start locations around the city. Even if you don't like group riding, meeting up with this group is a great way to get to know some trails which you can ride on your own later on.

If you can get out early ie 6am. There is a Strava group called TO Morning Ride Crew. They do inner city rides most mornings 30-50km. Meet spot varies depending on the route that morning. Most of the streets they take are not that busy. The groups get pretty large some time.

Avoid the MGT on good weather weekends. The trail is packed. Don Valley is less crowded but still, not the best place if you're training or trying to ride with speed.
