Trek 720 Build
Today, I built up a bike for my wife. I'm pretty pleased with it. Here is the build list
Frame: 1985 Trek 720, 21"
Wheels: 700c 32 spoke Campy Croce D'Aune hubs on Campy Strada Hardox rims - these were salvaged from an old race bike of mine. Tires are 23c Conti Top Tourers, made in Germany, had these around for some years unused. Current Shimano 14/32 freewheel.
Derailleurs: NOS Suntour Cyclone, 1st generation.
Shifters: Friction Campy C-Record.
Crank: Sugino XD-2, 46/36/28
Pedals: MKS Touring
Brakes: Velo Orange Grenouille Cantis
Brake Levers: NOS CLB
Handlebars: 42cm Nitto Noodle Bars
Stem: ITM Pro Race 400
Seat: Brooks Countess sprung saddle
Seatpost: Nitto S-83 Two bolt
Fenders: Honjo long fluted.
Headset: Vintage Stronglight/Spidel A-9 type
Bottom Bracket: Current generic Shimano cartridge, 107mm
I fit the fenders so that they would work with 27" rims with 1-1/4 tires, so they look a little not filled out with the 700c w/23c tires, but I want my wife to feel the advantage these wheels give her on on some of our long rides and let her decided if she wants to move up to something bigger/cushier.
Not much of a photographer, but here goes:
