Yea the street cred of these fell drastically on the street cred exchange since nashbar started selling them for $200.

Well, for $200, it really doesn't do too much harm buying one. Although you could buy a 721 or (for you, another) 727 off Coghouse's ebay

or a visp, which is a great bike once you get a nice fork for it.

That's funny, because I couldn't find that seller on eBay. Although I wouldn't mind buying your frame

Too late I went for a FTP the 1st day the deal came out... consult the "what did you just buy for your bike" thread for build spoilers.
BTW I'm not buying another leader in a long long time. I have my aesthetic reasons. Unless I find a NOS or used and not abused previous generation 735.

I'm thinking of building up a 721 in the fall/winter or possibly another ssfg member's visp...

just my ftp nashbar 2 cents.

got the frame on saturday, test fitted omniums from my vigorelli and they barely fit.

the inside corner of the crank arm kisses the paint surface. i have a 52cm frame.

hopefully the seat mast thing isn't too big of an issue. i'm excited to build this thing up. so far it's a great buy for 200.

Is your chanstay crimped? Like, is it thicker near the crank than other places?

mine should be here tuesday. who knows.

yeah i'm thinking omniums may be too tight of a fit.

yeah mine is crimped as far as i can tell. i feel like i can make the omniums work. we'll see. it spins past the chainstay, it just makes the slightest contact. chainring and spider arms clear just fine.

That's weird... this is the first time I've heard of the spider arm clearing but not the crank arm.

Nope, it is common with the FTP V1.

I meant that specific problem with Omniums. They are notorious for have fat spiders that do not clear several frames.

When you're pedaling it will probably rub worse due to the frame flexing
