Thought I'd posted in this thread but it must have been a different one. Looks like many of you have changed your avatar since describing what it was at the time of the post.
User name is from another forum where, at the time I joined, I was riding a KLR 650; a big 4-stroke single otherwise known as a thumper. I describe thumpism as a motorcycling philosophy or belief.
The avatar is a pic of my Raleigh Sports stem and a sticker I found for it at an old job working IT at a large company doing an equipment rollout, basically replacing 1/3 of the desktop machines each year. This was in '02 so we were replacing machines that had been checked and approved for use for Y2K and its anticipated bug. Y2K COMPLIANT also seemed to apply to the Raleigh, which has survived almost as long after Y2K as it did leading up to it.

My usename - the Peter Mooney custom built 1979 to be my good bike and keep me sane over the post TBI years. Did many crazy rides on it. He (bike's name is Pete) did his job. I stayed sane, alive and out of institutions.
My logo is the fix gear TiCycles built for me. Photo is by Cycle Oregon's Photographer Dean, 2014, riding up a 14% grade on a 42-17. (I thought the big hill was one later. You can see the 23 tooth cog I intended to use on the other side. By the time I realized this was the big one, I was committed and it was too steep to stop and start.) You can see the bag of my sandals under the DT (so I could give my feet a break at rest stops; I had real issues pulling up that hard on those d***ed straps. They were cut off and laces installed after the ride. On the top tube is the chainwhip. Earlier I used a 12 tooth.

Like my Peter Mooney has the name "Pete", this bike is Jessica J. (J because it's my second Jessica.) These are the only bikes I've ever named. Actually I didn't name them. I simply realized that was their name.

I have put this out on the forums before, but my user name is from a previous job where my supervisor called me "mad" during a discussion about pricing of high end wines that I was in charge of at the store. The name kind of stuck and the other co-workers called me Mad Honk. I have used the nick-name on a number of forums including one from my regular professional job of being a golf professional.
