Is regular Stan’s sealant OK for high pressure road tubeless?
just curious - I was hearing that is not thick enough to seal high pressure punctures on tubeless road tires.
i bought a quart of it & was going to use it with my Velocity Aileron/ Panaracer tubeless setup i’m
planning. Just curious if I need some other sealant.
thanks all!

I've had slightly better results with orange seal but Stan's should work too.

I used both, Orange seems to be easier, also less mess

It should work, but yeah - we use Orange endurance almost exclusively. Until the next big thing hits.

How high pressure? I had a fairly large hole right smack in the middle of the "tread" that Stans was able to seal at 80 psi... it was large enough that it would periodically need to reseal and I'd get a snoot full of teflon or whatever it is they use (this is my wife's bike) but it worked.
I'll probably get orange seal when my 40 gal. container of stans runs out.

No direct experience, but most of the poor road tubeless experiences that I've heard/read about have been from those using Stan's. I use Orange Seal and have no complaints. I've come across two or three people that have been unhappy with OS, but that's about it.

Yes, regular Stan’s works fine. I’ve used it, Orange Seal (both types), Bontrager, Joe’s Eco, and Schwalbe Blue, and only Joe’s really didn’t work.
it’s hard to compare, really, because every puncture can be different, and then throw in different tire constructions and pressures, all you can really come away with is experiences. I’m at the point, having run tubeless since ‘13, that sealant brand is not really important to me.
I usually run between 80psi and 105psi depending on tire size and application.
