Thread Title!

Hello, internet. My earliest memory of biking is from when I was four or five. Me and my best friend were in a small parade in town and he was supposed to be at the head of the parade and I was supposed to follow him. As soon as the thing started, I took off as fast as I could just sprinted the six blocks or so to the finish line. As a kid, I biked around our neighborhood after school every day up until my bike was stolen when I was around 14, and I didn't get another one until building a bike when I was 21. My roommate at the time had worked as a bike mechanic, and we built a road bike with Shimano 105 parts and a titanium frame I found for dirt cheap online. I'd gotten into running in the meantime, and didn't switch back to primarily biking until getting increasingly tired of the incessant injuries that come with running and finally tearing my meniscus and being told by the doctor to quit running.

Seems like many runners end up on bicycles. Enjoy the ride and the forum.
