850Km, Tour with an E-Assist, & suported...

I feel that I just NEED to post my tour with an E-Assist bicycle & supported, with my wife driving the truck with the camper and boat... Why...??? You may ask.? because it was FUN. and... I decided that E-Touring on a bicycle IS touring with a bicycle, and others may do the same and post their experience here in the bicycling touring forum. Also so that others doing this type of touring ( E-bike) can get info on what works and what doesn't if others want to chip in with their tours with E-Bikes. Here is my set up...

Looking back over my tours, a little bit of assist on some climbs wouldn't have hurt. Looks like fun. I doubt could talk my wife into driving sag for me, though.

Yes it was fun, stopped and fished, stopped and ate a cooked meal, stopped and had a warm nights sleep without the mosquitoes... Hills didn't kill me, the best of both worlds IMO...

EDIT; Oh, and I did actually ride/pedal, my E-Bike 70Kms out of every 100Kms, as the battery can only do about 30Kms per charge...

How much load you have on your bike effects the range of your battery. Carbon is lighter and more environmentally responsible. I wonder if you had a carbon e-bike with regenerative braking, a dynamo hub, and deployed solar panels, how far you could go?

OK, Well now, I am 100% sure I would go farther with a carbon bike, I do have re-gen, and a dynamo hub is included with my BionX set up... It's the $$$ per Kms that end up mattering, thus the carbon bike is a no go... IMO.
