Assos rims??

Received my Somec track bike today. The most beautiful bike I've ever seen in person, I'm stunned!! It has black aero rims saying "swiss made" and "assos" in minimalistic white letters, very discreet. On classicrendezvous.com they only say it's one of the first lightweight aero rims, nothing more.

https://www.classicrendezvous.com/Swi...Assos_main.htm

Anyone have any more info regarding these Assos rims? Any experiences with these? Here's how mine look like:

well, assos makes hands down some of the best (and most expensive) cycling clothing in existance. I can't imagine they would make cheap or bad rims.

Assos stuff is indeed amazing. Their stuff, particularly their cold weather gear, is bar non the best.

And those rims? They kinda look like vintage Ambrosios.

built around '84-'85. They're really light and one of those jewels that rarely turn up. I think, like the saavedras, they were generally used for timetrials. Also, I've heard that theyre post-manufacture drilled. With that, like the EAI turbos, they tend to have poor drillings.

Bikes: highly modified specialized crossroads and GT hybrid (really a [formerly] 12-speed bmx cruiser, made before 'hybrid' took on its current meaning), as yet unmodified redline 925, couple of other projects

They suck. . .now, please send them my direction for the proper coveting.

Joking aside, they are really nice rims and it sounds like you got treasure with your latest bike. Concrats.

eeeh (blushing) yeah! I need to get rid of one I think. The Somec actually beats the Kalavinka when it comes to elegance. We'll see what I'll do with this situation.
