I'll be picking up my '04 LeMond Buenos Aires this weekend - it's my first road bike.
I can't keep up climbing with my wife anymore on her DeRosa (all those spinning classes really paid off for her!), since I've been riding a Cannondale hybrid - time for some serious cardio and weight loss, so I figured I'd take the plunge with a "serious bike" (for me) for motivation.
I'm adding a Flight Deck - otherwise it should look identical to this one:

Go Gonzo
Hey Gonzo Bob, that is what I call a cycle picture, what was it like climbing that "hill"? How much preparation (training) did you do before hand?
Whoa, I want to do it!

As for training, I really did no specific hill training as I live in the gently rolling farmlands of the Midwest. But I did ride a lot (20-30 hours/week) since I was training for Paris-Brest-Paris (I have the PBP Jersey on in that photo) which was the week before the tour.

Thanks, my compliments to Pinarello! I was bike shopping in Davis about a month ago when I saw it in a window and about fell over backwards. I went in and asked what size it was and the girl told be 54cm, I said 'crap', she said 'wrong size?'. I said 'perfect size' ! I've been gushing over it ever since. The bike is like a piano string, it is just so tight and it corners like it's on rails. I get such a kick out of out riding with friends, we hit downhills at the same speed, they pedal, I coast, and walk away from them. I broke 40 for the first time twice the other day on some decent local grades, solid as a rock. I'll be quiet now, but god that bike rockssssss.

here's my new LeMond Buenos Aires - 2004, with the combo steel spine/OCLV carbon cockpit frame, Bontrager carbon fork, Ultegra/105 components, Bontrager wheelsets, Cane Creek headset, 3TTT THE handlebar & stem.
(My first "serious" roadbike, and first with clipless pedals, so I haven't pulled the "platforms" off the other side of the pedals yet - maybe later today when I take it for a spin.)

Yeah, Stealthman, my bike is very Halloween friendly I don't know if I'll ever ride all the way up to Folsom from downtown, but I'm moving to Rocklin soon - any recommended rides, routes, & clubs?
