Health screening at work ran the numbers for me. I'm normal across the board but I hate bmi readings. Make me feel fat when I'm less than 1 point from the overweight column. It just doesn't do a good job estimating heath when you don't have an typical american build.
I still need to lose some weight before the first races of next year, but....

It's well known that BMI is bogus as an individual metric. I wouldn't sweat it.

it's an adjusted chart based on kg/m^3. the chart is in pounds and inches; find your height on the left, scroll right to find your weight, then look up at the revised BMI.
9's underweight; 10-11 is skinny. 12-13 is average ... and >=15 is overweight... if you believe the revisions.
BMI is supposedly more accurate for people between 5'5" and 5'9". i think it's actually a decent metric *given what it is* (one number). and the reality is that most people could lose weight, even when they think they can't.
a trip to europe, india, asia ... pretty much anywhere outside the US. even what we think of as average is not really what average humans are like on the rest of the planet.
Edit to add one data point: I consider myself about 7-8# over where I'd like to be and about 14-15# over true race weight. This revised chart puts me between 12 & 13 now and would be at 11 at race weight. (At race weight I"m <6% BF.)

When I start to focus up again, the first ~8 lbs (putting me around where I want to be on a normal day) will fall off pretty easy once I start base miles back up. The next 8 will be tough and take some effort to get and maintain. If wanted to be able to see a 6 pack of abs, I'd probably need to lose another 8-10 putting me around 130. And I'm pretty sure I'd hate life if I tried to maintain that day to day. Not making excuses, I just prefer to be happy over grumpy all the time. I already don't really eat that much food on any given day. After I turned about 19 my metabolism slowed down quite a bit. For reference, it took me until I was 14 to break 100lbs and then I didn't go above ~130 until I started college. I think if I stopped exercising as much as I did, I would just balloon up.
Weight is the third leg of the triangle of proper training/racing (the other two being Power and Tactics) and something I intend to work on over this winter.

:/ to that chart. I'm at 14 now, 13 would be a great race weight (never actually raced at that weight), but if I got down to 12 I would look like an extra from the walking dead.

So I got some bont riots yesterday (ordered 9/5 finally arrived 9/27 lol). anyhow, I did their whole measuring procedure and ordered 42.5, my other shoes are a 44 I think (I usually wear size 10 shoes and the bonts are a size 9, 10s are actually slightly too large in reality). Anyhow, wondering to myself before I put cleats on and heat mold them (if I do those, I can't return) whether they're too small or what. My left big toe feels like it's bumping against something, but not sure if it's just a matter of having to heat mold or if I should go up 1/2 a size (I measured my foot, is 262mm and shoes are 265mm). Decisions, decisions.

I may have to order from 'murrica next time because I'm impatient and don't want to wait another 3 weeks to get them from Holland lol

A few years back Froome was in the US, probably the TOC, and had a set D2 custom shoes made. The owner was very surprised how tight of a toebox he insisted on given he is a GC rider. SKY use Sidi and Froome very obviously would have a great amount of input on their top tier shoes which also have a very tight toebox. It is so highly sculpted and refined the typical issues there seem to be mitigated. The second half of this equation is based on the pivot point and flexing that occurs around the ankle. If the toes cannot travel a few mm forward or twist they settle in like dogs in a pile.
Even with custom shoes a great number of people are never really happy. Do take care to avoid podiatric issues further down the road just to put out 5 more watts on training rides this year. Think about how people made helmets and shoes fit back in the day gluing closed cell foam chunks in place and skiving away what ailed. Or the classic European sports car of immaculate design and rough manufacture that eventually turned into a race car more reliable than the competition.

Got a letter in the mail saying that my next car payment will be my last, 18 months ahead of schedule. The early termination fee is more than I'm saving on a year and a half's interest. I know that when I started repayment I figured the earlier decreases in principle would save money on interest over the life of the loan, but it's still annoying to see that in print and know I would have been better off putting that extra payment each month into a good investment fund (it was my first loan of any sort - I signed my mortgage the next day - so my interest was a bit higher than average). Oh well, it'll be nice to have that extra money each month to repurpose (plan right now is to split it 1/3 each into increasing IRA, kids' college fund, and rainy day/home repair/next car fund).
There's a part of me wants to pile all of the car payments I'm not making for the next couple of years into paying down my mortgage until I no longer have to pay the pmi (which essentially adds a whole percent to my interest rate - there's no way I'll get as good a rate if I refinance so getting rid of the pmi is the best I can do), but the smarter part of me says re-read that last paragraph and invest the savings and I'll be ahead as long as I see better than 4% return.

Had an interview this morning at the University in the Athletics department. Started at 8 with breakfast, moved to campus at 10, and finished up at noon. I feel like it went pretty good.
Also, I have a phone interview on Tuesday with a hiring manager at Trek...so there is still some hope there..

It could be telling you what your wife is looking at.
I had a conversation with my wife about this once. All sorts of weird divorce stuff popped up on her amazon account recommendations (or it was facebook).
Could be their metrics just look at stats related to age or how long people have been married. All the more reason to stay off social media.

There's that common story out there about a dad coming in to complain to Target about how his daughter suddenly was getting microtargeted ads about pregnancy tests and prenatal vitamins and stuff and how his daughter was a good girl who'd never had sex and shouldn't be exposed to such things, then a couple of days later she said, "dad, I have something to tell you..."
