Can I use a 11-34 Dura Ace Cassette with Deore M5100 Drivetrain?
Hello,
Can I use a 11-34 Dura Ace Cassette with Deore M5100 Drivetrain? More specifically, I want to use the ZTTO Black Cassette Ultralight 11Speed Road Bike HG Body 11-34 cassette
IF NOT, can someone recommend a cassette that is would work with the M5100 drivetrain but which is around the 11-34 range? I do not need the bigger 40/42/46/52 gearing.

I don't try to memorize Shimano spec and compatibility details, but here's where you can start.
RD capacity involves both a maximum size cassette, and chain takeup (difference in teeth between big/big and small/small) limit. So start with confirming what the RD will accept.
Then, there are sometimes compatibility issues between cassettes and freehubs, so check that.
Otherwise, hang around and probably will directly answer the question, saving you the work.

While you say you have a Deore M5100 drive train, do you know that all of the components of the drive train are from the Deore M5100 group? Including the rear hub/freehub?
The current 11 speed Deore free hubs FH-M6000, FH-TC-500-HM and FH-TC-HM-B are HG spline M. The current Dura Ace 11 speed cassette CS-R9100 is HG spline L. While I'm not certain exactly what that means, maybe another member does and can explain.
Maybe it's a sign of the times I'll have to get use to. But bigger gears use to mean the smaller sprockets on the rear that gave a bigger gear ratio. If one was referring to the gears on the rear that are physically larger in tooth count, then we'd say larger rear cogs or larger rear sprockets and leave the word gearing out of the picture entirely..
But it did help that you added the tooth count to that statement.

FWIW: relatively comprehensive Shimano specifications from 2004-05 through 2023-24 can be found at this link.
Edited to add: according to the 2023-2024 Shimano spec document, the RD-M5000 is a 1x RD that has a total capacity of 40 and must use an 11-51T rear cassette (min rear = max rear = 11T, min rear = max rear = 51).
Shimano RD specifications have historically been fairly conservative. However, a 34T largest rear sprocket is 17T smaller than the recommended min for the RD-M5000.
While that might work, well, . . . caveat emptor.

For awhile I used an 11 speed XT derailleur with an 11-34T Ultegra Cassette on my touring bike, and nothing bad happened.
