Is the too-long one on your bike a Modolo (notorious for breaking)? Are you looking for another shorter Modolo or would you only want a Mavic (which I THINK are not as break-y prone, or at least not that I have heard)? Any thoughts about a Deda Elementi? Similar stylistically to the Modolo but a 2-bolt removable bottom clamp portionand again not a break-prone rep like the Modolo had. I have one (Deda) in 120 so probably not your size (?).

Those dovetail joint stems from Mavic are quite rare/hard to find. I presently have one on my Peugeot PSV. Lucked out finding it in mint/condition, some years back.Wasn't that sure at first about the dovetail joint design. But it has been doing OK, so far on my bike after 5 years of use. No bar slippage and the joint is holding up OK.

I'll second the Deda stem. I'm using two of them now and got the second one just yesterday. They are readily available on Amazon and other places. Some comments on these about flex though. Conventional wisdom says to run in the rear bolt really tight to set the large mating surface against the main body, then tighten the front as needed. I don't have any issues with mine and actually did a quite fast and spirited ride on the bike I had just installed the second one on. My only nitpick is the logo on it, would look so much cleaner without it.
On my Serotta CSI
Freshly installed one on my Nova Special.
Not very expensive and easy to find:

Just to slightly hi-jack: If anybody wants my 120mm Deda mine has a much smaller logo than most examples you find (maybe 50% smaller) plus it's a sort of gray-silver color (not blue) so already not as glaring as the current offerings, judging by these pix. Just PM me, it's NOS and have the owner's manual too (big whoop).
