Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Beating NE isn’t much of an accomplishment now. Especially when their best RB was out for personal reasons.

Minor home improvement fiasco yesterday. The shower head in our standing shower is dripping slowly. It's loud enough to be a nuisance at night. I am pretty sure it needs a rubber O ring or equivalent replaced as it's about 8 years old and gets daily use.

I went to take it apart, and to get the handle off the faucet and expose the innards, you have to unscrew a 2.5mm allen bolt that is recessed deep inside the faucet handle.

I don't know if my 2.5mm allen key is rounded or the bolt is rounded, but suffice it to say I could not loosen the stupid thing and I don't have the fancy tools to extricate it.

I think we are going to have to call the handyman to help.

Finally got around to watching and agree with his comments about my machine and the Rancilio. I have the pressure mod kit and the PID kit for my Classic Pro but haven't installed them yet. I can't seem to find a couple hours or so to cool the boiler and open the guts to do the mods because I'm always using it when I'm home.

It's interesting that if a stranger's kid pukes on you (or does other things on you) how disgusting that is, but if it's your own kid it's no big deal. I hope the little one is feeling better.

Then there's the question of whether the last car approaching in the crossing lane will jump the red light. In these parts it's considered a weakness to not jump the red. And I sometimes fear getting rear ended as the guy behind me is ready to do it too
