Mounting a phone on my handlebars

I just had an idea to mount my phone on my handle bars and use it to record my trips.
I was looking at cases but they all seem to be geared towards using the phone for directions or other phone stuff. The backs on them were all solid, and that's where my camera is.

Any suggestions?
I Googled it and came up with options like these:
https://www.amazon.com/Arkon-SM432-Bi...p_ob_title_def
I could always get something like that and cut the back, but I'd prefer it if I could buy something already specifically made.

I purchased a mount from Ram Mounts for my Droid X. The holder is universal and can hold a lot of different devices. Seems like a good sturdy mount.

Ram mount, definitely. I used a different one for the GPS on my sled, but will be switching to a Ram mount when I switch to a motorcycle GPS.

Just ordered a ram mount for my bike to hold my Droid x2 in an otterbox. I have been looking for a good mount and saw the one the OP mentioned many times but this looks like a much better mount and holder. A LOT more expensive but worth the extra monty I am sure.

I've used mounts from Arkon and Ram. I prefer the Ram RAP-274-1U EZ on/off mount with RAM-HOL-PD3U holster. Holds my EVO 4G like a charm and has a nice low profile.

I have a RAM mount for my GPS and they work great. They are a bit heavy but worth the weight.

What I do for my phone is to just place it in a case with a belt clip and clip it to my shifter or brake cable.

I also have a Droid X and am interested in finding a good mount for it. It seems that Ram Mount offers the best quality. What specific holder and mount did you guys purchase? Have you had any problems since? When I view their website I see a lot of different options and would prefer something that is low scale. I'd appreciate any info. Thanks.

I use a Ram mount for my Garmin 76c mapping GPS, used it on my four wheeler with no problems.
Sold my four wheeler and the GPS just sat in the safe, now I have a new use for it.

If you are into DIY see the following duct tape and cardboard mount:

Droid X here. I simply affixed velcro tape to the back of the DroidX lengthwise and on my top frame the other piece of velcro tape. Works like a charm!

Thought I'd bump this with 2 solutions:
1. I simply held the camera and rode on a trail I wanted to record. Didn't turn out too bad. I'll upload it and edit this post when it's done.
2. I bought a Go Pro. Should be here in time for Christmas
