Better Than Free - Univega Winter Road Bike

So, got this mostly stock Univega Ital-Sport for $15 off Craigslist ,saving it from the dump. Sold the Triomphe brake levers & derailleurs for $100. Since the frame's my size & it has eyelets, I thought it would make a good wet weather beater. So, rummaged through the parts bin and found Zeus levers, an old Suntour rear derailleur, and recycled bar tape.
Still has original Campy shift levers, BB and headset.
Then jammed in a 130mm rear wheel with granny 13-29 10 speed cassette, which the derailleur can just barely handle.
No front der yet. May steal a N.R. off a bike in the shed.
Somehow I shifted onto the bike ring near the end of the ride.

But, the cushy 28mm tire doesn't leave room for a fender, so switch to 25, or cut off the brake bridge and braze a new one up 1/4".
Rides pretty nicely.

AFTER (so far)

Red is a good winter colour. More chance of being seen in all the drab weather.
