I just ordered a set of Reynold Assault wheels for my cannondale super six evo which has tight clearance on the rear. The Reynolds have a 17mm internal and 25mm external, I planned to run a 25mm Schwalbe pro ones. However I’m a little concerned with the width as I can only go 26mm wide or so. For those with 17/25 rims what is your measured tire width? I figure I might have to run a 23mm tire on the rear and let it grow to 25.

I have Reynolds carbon wheels that are 17/25 rims. I run Continental 5000 clinchers and they fit fine on my bike which also has a narrow clearance. My other wheelset has a 19mm internal width and it was pretty tight. You should be OK. Last year, I ran Continental 4000 and they were a lot wider.

Jarmo Bierman At bicyclerollingresistance tests all his tires in a 25mm size on a 17mm rim. Maybe that will be useful to you.

Don't have those wheels, but have some Mavic with 17 internal. I thought I remembered the Compass 700 x 28's running slightly larger than stated size when mounted on my 21 internal rims. When I swapped them over to the Mavics, they now measure 26 and some change.... The ride is still nice, but not nearly as much cushion as I was hoping for.
